>>45869568up to gen 4 aside from the shitton of filler it was kinda fun to see the growth in his character, despite always having an empathetic and somewhat naive nature, he started off as a childish, cocky bastard, and that showed when charizard decided that fuck him, he wasn't winning the league. as the seasons progressed you could really see him mature, eventually even acting as a mentor for may and dawn. in a good world he would've won the league in sinnoh to get replaced by a new mc but well, here we are now i guess
