Nidoking was solid in UU as far back as gen 5. It's been good ever since Sheer Force came out, while Charizard has lagged in lower tiers for basically the entire competitive history of the game.

Not only that, Nidoking's able to run Sheer Force + Life Orb and get away with not suffering Life Orb's HP loss effects since if a move with a secondary effect's used, Sheer Force not only negates the move's effect, but also negates the Life Orb's HP loss while keeping the power boost.

the frail mixed attacker distribution is fine
Poison/Ground isn't going to take hits from SE attacks no matter how much you put into defense
it's best to use the immunities/resistances to switch into something and then yolo
