Covid shut them down beofre going out on a junket and after the US became a petri dish for it, anyone with sense stayed away.
Gen IX's going to be SE asian based, where they can travel somewhat freely and not have to isolate 10-14 days before getting in-country, or risk catching it from some mouthbreather "excorsing muh rights".

The problem was you idiots thinking because they did all they could to make remakes of 2MB games worth the GBA/DS price-point buy-in, they had to do so with your remake, despite failing to unerstand as you'd grown older, you'd grown less relevant to the devs and their sales numbers. We knew back in 2010 they started adapting to the modern era, why did you think a facility that the vast majority of layers never entered, would be re-added, when the factors that caused its inclusion in Gen III were no longer an issue in VI (connecting players to other players for PvP).
What you're ignoring is the fact it was a rehash addition and that most people who play pokémon, don't play it for the endgame pvp. Even when they finish them they don't continue grinding in the world for EV's flawless IV'd 'mons or any that bullshit - that's why mints and bottlecaps were added, why vitamins now fully EV-train, why youcan bring an older pokémon forward and make it battle-ready. They want people playing online, not shut away in their room in an rng hall like an autist.

Yes, and as the first proper home console Pokémon game, it's outsold every other Nintendo IP's console debut sales. Much less that despite releasing on the first Nintendo console to take the normie attention (last time was the DS) they're still within the top 5 selling games on the system, despite other games being there longer or no longer dominating the sales of a system (which was more an indication of how little the market thought of the console's offerings than how popular Pokémon was, RS only sold 16m on GBA and topped its charts, DP sold more but more people were buying DS games in general so didn't dominate).

The only one seething is the people mad Pokémon's still within top 5 all-time sales on Switch while simultaneously outselling everything Game Freak released since the death of Pokémania, while Nintendo themselves called AC's performance as unprecedented and attributed it entirely to the fact the majority of the world was sat at home, desperate to have a semblance of a "normal" life.
The fact they delayed it for "quality" (KEK!) and were slinging it out in spring pointed more to them having more hype for Pokémon than AC in the lead-up to Pokémon and not wanting to entirely destroy AC's sales potential (like how they released BotW, Mario Kart and other big first party titles spaced out monthly in the first year of its launch) by running it up against a more anticipated game as Pokémon's home console debut.
