No that’s XY. Unless you’re counting the DLC regional dexes as part of the Galar dex, in which case you’d be correct but it took DLC to get it that big whereas XY had that many from the start.

Sword and Shield is in the same boat as SuMo. SuMo definitely had a better story than SwSh. But that's not saying much, even subpar fanfiction would pass off as a better story than SwSh.

I found SwSh's story to be entertaining. SwSh has some cool characters but man is it being bogged down by Macro Cosmos and Darkest Day bullshit.

Those parts sucked for sure, but Hop was by far the worst character. I hated literally every scene he was in except when he got dabbed on by Bede and lost.

Considering that the newer games have nothing but a regional dex comparing the Hoenn dex to the Galar Dex is improper too. Far all we know, had the National dex been kept in there wouldn't be 5 separate regional dexes to cover for it.

To reinforce this point. Had the regional dexes been a thing back in Gen 3 all the Sevii island mons would be considered part of the Kanto dex, so would the mons on the battle island in Sinnoh. If you include the IoA and Crown Tundra mons in the Galar regional dex then it would be fair to include all region native post game mons from all other games as part of those regional dexes too.
