I wish we could get more games like Colosseum and XD. I know that those games existed to bring in gen 2 pokemon since you couldn't transfer pokemon from gen 2 to gen 3, but they were still unique pokemon games that used the same battle mechanics of the main games. Now that they don't have to be a way to bring back uncatchable pokemon they could bring in all kinds of pokemon from all 8 gens now. Having a more traditional jrpg story instead of following the formula from the main games as well as focusing on double battles would help spice things up.

Imagine this release schedule.
>2019 gen 8
>2020 gen 8 dlc
>2021 colosseum style game developed by someone other than game freak
>2022 gen 9

This would give Game Freak more development time between games and it would give us something just different enough that would hopefully help with all the fatigue of yearly releases. It's a shame Genius Sonority practically doesn't exist anymore and all the talent that did work there is being wasted at Game Freak.
