>>45910543you're thinking of absolute pitch, not music theory - music theory is what helps us understand compositions (and thus helps people with composing), absolute pitch is being able to identify notes from their sound. you wouldn't necessarily NEED absolute pitch either, it'd just make it a lot more time consuming and prone to wrong notes (and even with absolute pitch you can make a few mistakes)
also depending on how much people smarter than us care about the wonderswan, getting midis might be irrelevant, it may be possible to just extract the game's music data in a semi-readable fashion (which can be done for just about any nes/gb game)
