I fucking despite the current generation's BSS format because of Dynamax and how broken both it is in the format and for how frustrating certain Pokemon are there. Cinderace is miles worse in BSS than it is in OU, for example, but will never be banned from BSS because it'd be positively ridiculous to expect that, even if it's insultingly overpowered in the format and I hate it a lot. I sometimes enjoy playing OU or it's variations simply to get a break from shitmaxing or Shillderace's prominence (since without the terrible mechanic to back it up, it's still strong but nowhere near unfair to fight). Other Pokemon who make me want to shoot something in BSS include Naganadel, Urshifu-SS (Didn't lead with the correct counter? Have fun immediately losing to those two!), and numerous Pokemon who are fine normally but become bullshit once given access to the terrible crutch mechanic of the gen.
On the other hand, however, while OU does bans fairly I feel there are a lot of Pokemon legal there that I also really fucking hate to fight, such as Jirachi or Magearna, and yes, OU is indeed filled with stall teams that always suck to face. Stall isn't invincible, mind you, it's just not fun to fight. Other Pokemon I fucking hate to fight include Kyurem's fatter, stall-based sets, Keldeo (again, didn't bring in the correct counter at the right time? Get bent!), and a whole host of other mythics and legendries. Not to mention Pokemon who are better in OU than BSS because they have access to their past-gen moves, like Volcarona, Chansey/Blissey, or especially fucking Clefable, all of which can be extremely frustrating to fight. Sometimes I play BSS just to get away from all of those issues.
Then I get fed up with the bullshit there and go back to OU.
tl;dr, neither is perfect but at the end of the day I do think the best answer is
Nat Dex OU, which has a lot more going for it and is the first time in ages where I've actually enjoyed myself.
