I got it as a gift, I enjoyed it. The catch mechanic was a nice change of pace, it even encouraged me to reinstall Go on my phone for the first time since 2016 to get the pokemon I was missing

It has better Pokemon distribution and trainer selection over FRLG. It's also leaps and bounds more open than FRLG because of Pokemon riding and HMs not being tied to gym progress so you can do them in basically any order you want.

I think the full price is fine. This are good games, and do what they try to do better than Sun and Moon or Sword and Shield. People that keep comparing these to a main release (even if this is treated as a main game) are totally retarded.

If we're talking pure playtime then Pokemon do alright, especially with online play inlcluded. A main story of ~20 hours isn't bad for SwSh. Better than some AAA cinematic games that are only ~10 hours with zero replayability or online play.
