Why the fuck do people unironically want let's go versions of diamond, and pearl, and not remakes like FRLG, HGSS, and ORAS? Let's go style version of the diamond, and pearl remakes would warrant me abandoning the series! I don't want just the 493 pokemon, I don't want the game to be easy, I don't want it to cater to the GO normies, and I don't just want to chuck balls at the wild pokemon constantly.

They're not going to be. They're getting made in SS's engine, like all the other core remakes got remade in the latest engine. Anyone pushing the LGDP meme clearly can't accept Dyanmax coming to Sinnoh, like megas got thrown in ORAS.

The only people who say LGDP could happen are the ines who hate SwSh and/or Dynamax. Every time you ask why they think it's possible their reasoning is something along the lines of "well Dynamax wouldn't work in Sinnoh" or "LGPE are the new mainline, Sinnoh will be Let's go too"

I think LGDP is happening because it's probably just how they want to do remakes from now on.
Think about it, how are they supposed to completely redo Sinnoh from the ground up when they created a perfectly stable sandbox with LGPE to just take the original maps and shove them in 3D?

On the contrary, it feels like the only people who think it won't be a Let's Go style game are those who were never here for the ORAS or LGPE fiascos. The argument always boils down to "they'll shove the gimmick in!" when ORAS never put character customization from XY in and people were upset about that, and then it's "They'll be remade like SWSH!" when LGPE are considered Gen 7 and weren't at all like the Alola games.

Yes. They put megas in Hoenn and it happened to be remade right after XY were put out. They also put megas in Kanto for Origins and later in LGPE even though they were apparently shitcanned, and the original reveal for megas was literally in Unova.
The same isn't true of Z-Moves or Dynamax, which is ironic because even Z-Moves were done in Kanto in the anime after their conception despite them saying they can only be done in Alola because it's the closest region to the place where Necrozma's light shone through.

You're not wrong, but people seem to have confused "SWSH-style" with "new-style" when remakes have always cut things from the latest games so that BOTH entries can still be sold at full price during the generation.
I don't recall FRLG or HGSS having contests, do you? ORAS didn't have PR Videos or character customization, and XY was never updated with the new megas ORAS got in order to make both games viable for sale.
I actually really want raids and subsequently dynamax to come to Sinnoh. But you're deluding yourself if you think they'll go out of their way to shoehorn them in when they've previously shown they're just fine with throwing in old megas and using the same old map for a remake.
Remember, because of the new policy with Home, SWSH and DP remakes don't have to be commpatible. At all.

I want Let's Go Johto only because the first one had mounts, overworld encounters, and following pokemon and I want a game with those things. I'd much rather have a straight Crystal remake than anything that has to do with Go if it had the nice things Let's Go had.

LGPE didn't sell very well in Japan after the first 3 days and they only sold about average for a remake overall. LGPE style was an experiment and in the home country of Pokemon it essentially failed.

Well something interesting to note is that Pokemon Sleep was also slated for a 2020 release and yet we saw nothing of it.
Given Darkrai being a thing and dreams being a common theme in Sleep, it wouldn't surprise me if the Sinnoh remakes were tied to Pokemon Sleep just like the Kanto remakes were tied to Pokemon GO. "LGDP" is just the given name for now, no one really thinks it'll be as GO-tied as Let's Go was.

Thanks for proving my point. ORAS did include gen 6's gimmick, megas. LGPE were an exception because it was Kanto's second remake. Making LGDP now would be skipping 3 potential games. (LGGS, LGRS, traditional Sinnoh remake)

You can make the argument LGPE is more traditional than SM and SWSH are as it actually kept the core values of Pokemon games intact.

No one is denying this. The fact is that "traditional" remakes are no longer a thing just like "traditional" mainline games are no longer a thing.
SM/USUM, SWSH, and LGPE were all created to be standalone titles. There's no need to fuss about compatibility with anything as they are designed with the mindset that even if they are released, the previous game on the same hardware will also still be marketable.
Even HGSS/FRLG did this. Remakes coming out didn't mean that they would give up on marketing DPPt or RS at all, and for that reason the "traditional" remakes didn't have what was considered to be the gimmicks of those regions, like contests, the underground, or character customization.
You're free to dislike it, but these are the cold hard facts. It would be a miracle if LGDP has raids at all.

This hasn't been shown anywhere. LGPE were an experiment that didn't sell very good in Japan past the first 3 days of launch. Them replacing traditional remakes is very unlikely.

Again, ORAS got built in XY's engine and they threw the gimmick they'd introduced to the kids already that Gen in again, to keep the wee fucks happy. Just like they'll shove grobig into Sinooh, to keep the wee fucks of Gen VIII happy.

FRLG have terrible sprites and music, while the original games have some of the best, most unique, and most stylized sprites in the series, as well as the most iconic soundtrack possibly in gaming history. the gameplay changes in gen 3 didn't have the physical special split, but they did give abilities to every mon which literally makes combat (especially in the early game) infinitely more annoying
