>>45923963While there's no animals in Pokemon, I think that anon meant in how Pokemon are portrayed. A gardevoir isn't a guardian angel in practice. Maybe in design but it's not like it's a creature that comes down from heaven to protect little timmy. It's a creature that lives in the wild just like a Pikachu does and it has fantastical properties like any other pokemon. In games it's basically a creature you go capture in the wild to raise, breed and do battle with and it's essentially a subservient creature to it's master. It's these types of portrayals that sometimes makes people connect them to animals even thought they don't exist in Pokemon since the Pokemon take that role.
I don't know about digimon but I remember they could talk, they had their own architecture, civilizations, and stuff. While Pokemon are portrayed as wild creatures digimon act and some even look very people like from what I can remember.
