The thing I don't like about Let's Go being what's coming is that it'll feel like the tail leading the head. They haven't introduced a new gimmick for Johto starters so it'll just be regular Johto or some unprecedented semi-canon gimmick.

Spin-offs haven't been relevant to the core games' direction since colo/gale when they were made explicitly to shoehorn Johto pokémon into Gen III after deleting them in the jump.
That LGPE also underperformed compared to not only the last core remake but the next game released on the Switch indicates there's less chance them spitting out another Let's Go in their 25th anniversary to sell significantly less than what they know they can generate with a traditional core remake.

I like ORAS and think it gets a bad rap. I think it's the best game to come out in the last six or so years. But there was a ton of wasted potential.

>RS story instead of Emerald's, meaning you face one team instead of two and explore less.
>No Emerald Gym Leader teams
>No Mirage Tower
>No Berry Blending minigame, even as an option
>Reduced the Trick House puzzles
>Contests are way too easy and you don't get a Ribbon for each rank anymore.

Then you have HGSS, which added a ton of stuff. It makes ORAS look worse in comparison.

Anon, some of those complaints are due to you not understanding GF place less weight on rehash content, because they don't spend as long developing the rehash content vs the main pair, thus don;t care to implement it when remaking the pair, due to it not actually being relevant to their gruntwork on the games in question and others are complaining about their choices to adapt the series for the modern child. I'll give you the berry blending but the rest is all down to either GF's outlook on that devcycle or the fact the modern world has shaped child development differently to almost 20 years ago and GF changed to keep up with that shift.

Remember, what can be attributed to malice can easily be from incompetence.
Assuming somebody already put in a minor feature that's taken for granted, never checking, and only realizing it's not there when the game is being shipped is totally something Game Freak would do.

I knew what you meant. The point was to show that Game Freak are jackasses who could easily have given the gym leaders rematches, considering they did it for dozens of generic trainers in ORAS.
I bet it would have taken them an hour, maybe two tops, to draft and implement gym leader rematches.
