For example wooper is trash, since while it had a geat attack, there were no physical water attacks.
So instead you used starmie, which was OU.

Well, Slam will come before beating Bugsy, and Headbutt comes after that, so the first time Tail Whip might come in handy will be when you learn Slam. I agree with you though, Headbutt is a lot better even if it's weaker.

One-Trick-Ponies are cool if Game Freak cares about them to actually make their one trick viable. Otherwise, they end up spending over 20years as a shitmon because Game Freak can't be arsed to give them the most basic coverage options that common sense says that they should be able to learn.

giving you more options so you aren't locked to 50 pokemon as viable, isn't casual. Is basically not wasting pokedex space in filler.
Also you can beat stadiums easily, even without optimal movesets, all you need is to train properly, like the game mentions, your EVs are huge in gen 1 and 2, so if you level manually after pumping them full of steroids you should do great anyway.
