It's good and I had a ton of fun but I will say that you should use a separate team for the Wild Area. I did that and didn't let my main team get any grinding whatsoever and the challenge was good and fun. Using any XP or items from the Wild Area will make you too strong.

If that's all you're looking for then it will deliver. The story is okay, gameplay is mostly unchanged. Dex cut is bullshit but you won't notice during a play through.

Not too much to do once you finish the postgame story/DLC, but that's a criticism almost every game in the series shares.

IMO yes. It's shitty that they moved to a DLC model instead of releasing a complete game but Crown Tundra is pretty good. Isle of Armor is decent but not great.

If you enjoyed XY you will despise SWSH. They're two different takes on the genre.
If you give SM a shot and like it you may be more inclined to enjoy SWSH. They play very similarly, it's just that SWSH lacks the same polish that SM had and both are devoid of soul, memorability, or content.

SM has lots of content compared to SWSH though. SM actually had post game maps, a good battle tower clone, and rematch trainers scattered throughout the map. SWSH on the other hand doesn't even have any post game maps and the battle tower is the worst since RS. It doesn't even have multi battles

Overall, it's aggressively mediocre
Lots of little issues build up over time, but if you can look past them you'll probably have a good time

The DLC is pretty good. IoA is a good sidequest and CT is a great post-game. As for version exclusives I would check the big ones like which pseudos and new regional forms you get.

A lot of returning play it like because the main campaing is has a simple "plot" and is over quite fast, just like the gaems before gen III.
Just be aware that fter you are done with main story, if aren't interested in the dlc or online play, there isn't really anything to do or explore.

It's accessible, but the wild pokemon are all in the 60s and Peony's team is clearly designed to be faced by the player after becoming champion. It's meant to be played as the post-game.

I am ashamed in you all. SwSh isn't with the price but if you care enough to pirate it and figure it out then yeah sure. USUM is better though IMO but still isn't great

I’d delayed playing Gen 8, mainly because I hated the way the new generation of Pokemon looked but also partly due to the backlash, but after playing through the main games and DLC I’d say they’re the best games since HG&SS.

Dexit was annoying, but it’s completely clouded people’s judgement of the games. It’s a slippery slope removing Pokemon from the game completely, but ultimately it didn’t stop me from enjoying the game

It's above average actually

Only problem with SwSh is the postgame is ass without DLC.
