Bugbros, we deserved better.

I’ve always really liked bugs, when I was 6 I would play “ant paradise” with my other outcast friends sitting by the tree and pretend the leaves the ants crawled onto were airplanes. But enough about me. Bugs literally are the reason that Pokemon exists to begin with. The creator wanted to recapture the magic of bug collecting in a Japan where the meadows and fields bugs call home have rapidly transformed into cities. But the Bug typing has gotten the shit end of the stick overall. They keep making bipedal bugs like Buzzwole and Pheromosa, which are more humanoid than insectlike. Also there are tons of interesting bugs that don’t get enough representation. The Bombardier Beetle, my personal favorite, sprays fiery acid out of its ass. Thats pretty cool, but it gets literally nothing, but these boring butterflies and bees and wasps (still nothing based off the Tarantula Hawk Wasp? PITIFUL!) and moths get way too much of the spotlight.
Bug types, despite being the literal reason the franchise exists, have been neglected in so many ways.
>it’s typing has 2 resistances and is weak to Fire, Flying, and Rock, overall negative especially with Stealth Rocks. Offensively it hits only 3 types super effectively, Psychic, Bug, and Dark, and is resisted by a whopping 7 types! (Ghost, Fighting, Fire, Poison, Steel, Flying, and Fairy) making it objectively the worst type in the game. At least Ice is good offensively, making up for its terrible lack of resistances, and keep in mind Bug only has 1 more resistance than Ice. Pathetic.
>The last truly inspired design was Volcarona, based off the Atlas moth and some legends.
>they keep making tons of BIPEDAL bugs which is just terrible.
>The best Bug-type move is more often used by non-Bug types than Bug-types.
