The burden of proof is more on it NOT being a Let's Go style game, since in order to make it like SM/SWSH they would need to completely revamp the maps and arbitrarily gate things off so that the flagpoints on the map can function properly for the purpose of railroading.
Also, I can't see a HGSS/ORAS style remake happening with the dex cut. SWSH and the remakes don't need to be compatible at all with the new policy and if that's the case I see them making it a self-contained remake like the original LGPE that way transfers only become viable for Gen 9.
