Fix how ball throwing works, or add more options. Whenever I was catching pokemon I would play handheld mode because aiming with gyro and throwing with A was much better than using the joy con. Let me choose to aim with gyro, or preferably with the joy stick, in docked mode.
Master trainers were a neat idea but having them specialize in one pokemon is dumb. Add master trainers that have specialized teams. Like one could specialize in using weather.
Keep Kanto basically the same and just add Johto on to it. Like keep all the trades for the Alolan forms where they are, and add trades for Galarian forms in Johto. And add the mega forms for the Johto pokemon that have them.
Don't just make it a Crystal remake. Make it feel like a sequel to LGPE. Like keep Jessie and James around even if they are basically irrelevant. Have Green hanging out somewhere again to battle. Things like that.
That's pretty much it for me. I really liked the first games, but they just didn't have enough content. Having Johto and Kanto would make for a much more full feeling game.
