Diamond/Pearl had some pretty shit gyms.

The worst of it all is there's a trainer in Amity Square with a Drifloon and talking to it doesn't count as seeing it, even though seeing a fucking picture of a Palkia in a book counts as seeing it.

Wulfric's Gym is the worst. I appreciate them doing something other than a slippy-slidey ice puzzle, even though I love those. But this puzzle isn't even hard; it's just tedious and time-consuming.

I didn't like Gardenia's gym from Diamond and Pearl, not because it was hard, quite the contrary, it was far too simple. Like retard baby simple. It was especially disappointing having originally played the infinitely superior version from Platinum with the flower clock, now THAT was a cool gym. Weird angle tree maze that just requires you to run around the whole thing and fight a few trainers was not impressive or good.

Olivine, gen II Seafoam and gen II Viridian just for not having any puzzle and trainers, just a literal corridor to the gym leader.
Battle-wise, pretty much anyone who uses two Pokemon from the same line.

Especially bad because Emolga should be a decent problem to solve on its own, being an Electric Type immune to the Ground Type you brought in, but by the time you even get to Elesa you've dealt with it multiple times. Thank god there's Volt Switch to at least sort of switch it up.

No because Opal's stageroom is still inside the gym.
The murals are in Hammerlocke vault all the way on the other side of the city. So either they got lazy or it's just expected that Raihan's challengers need to go to the gym to sign up, take a field trip to the vault, and then walk all the way back to the stadium once that's been done.

They definitely got lazy. I was wondering why they made a big deal about the gyms having challenges just for Raihan to not get one. It felt exactly like Mina in SM not having a trial.
