Has a great design. It's really hard to go wrong with slime monsters. People that don't like it are the kind of people that want every Pokemon to be dragons and wolves.
Muk is great too. The changes are subtle, but meaningful, going from a cheerful slime with symmetrical body to a miserable-looking asymmetrical mess that seems to struggle just to keep itself together.
A 10/10 Pokemon line.

has anyone ever actually used one? Not counting it's alolan form you get early on. It seems like a good early game mon but you only ever get it later in most games or there are always better mon near or around it.

One of my favorites! Its evolution has 3 stats in the 100s which is quite rare for any regular Pokemon. I wish both versions had Dark type moves but I guess Kanto's Sludgemon is focused more on Ground attacks (Still no Earthquake ;-;)

I've used one in Rejuvenation to tank my rival's Hydro Pump Greninja set. It's a good special tank but lacks good moves.

I like his evolution. the first and second stage are way too similar. the first one can just go away. even as a kid i thought they look too much alike and i actually like the "it gets bigger" meme.

it's decent. what mostly kills grimer in-game is the fact that it takes to level 38 to evolve.
other than that, psychic and earthquake aren't anywhere in-game, so it's a safe pokemon to use in most games.

I've used Muk in Ruby and Alolan Muk in Sun. Both times it came in clutch and was easily the MVP, ESPECIALLY in Sun.

hoenn, physical gen 2 and gen 3 sludge bomb with stab are brutal
in fact the neo rocket from sevii island battles were harder than any gsc or hgss version, at least they had good enough movesets

anyway yes, i love kanto mons, especially when used between gen 2 and gen 4 due to the sprites charm and game mechanics etc
maybe i only disliked using the pidgeot line until it's got a mega, i think i never ever used pidgey in a normal playthrough and to think i even had fun with electrode and the likes

His Red/Blue sprites are really funny, always love that. Never used one in a story team but being a poison special wall is nice.
