Anyone make mons where the gameplay came first, and then the design was made to accommodate that?
Arcriket is based on an architect plus a bunch of insects that create hives/nests, and it's ability allows it to set Room moves that last 8 turns.

I want to design my own region and I've got what might be a silly question - Is it bad to have multiple 3-stage pokemon lines that share the same type as a starter?
Like I have a sloth/bigfoot for the grass starter, now I'm thinking of having a mutli-headed grass/dragon hydra, maybe even a tumbleweed variation for Hoppip.

Does this cheapen the Grass Starter by there being different "starters" out there?

No. The way I see it that's actually good design since if the player picks, say, the grass starter and they end up disliking it they can swap it out for a different grass type. Or if they pick fire they still have multiple multistagers to pick as their water and ground counter.

No. Remember gen 1 had THREE 3-stage Grass/Poison lines. As long as the starters aren't straight-up invalidated by any of them (e.g. Clover's Grass/Ground starter being overshadowed by a more minmaxed Grass/Ground with better abilities), it should be fine.

Bumping with some older fakemon of mine, I thought it would be neat to do a fire/grass fakemon that wasn't just a chili pepper or a sunflower. However, turns out popcorn is also just as common, so I am once again a creatively bankrupt hack. Regardless, I think these guys came out good, so enjoy!
