The rest of the energy would end the war, which I assumed to be between Kalos and Galar, by the sheer fact that both forces are decimated after the weapon kills a majority of both armies. Meanwhile, Eternatus wakes up and begins the Darkest Day on Galar’s home front, and since most of their army is away to war, the tragedy that follows is only stopped by two commoners who apparently team up with Zacian and Zamazenta to end the threat, and are eventually crowned as Princes of the Kingdom of Galar.
It’s hard to tell if they original ruling social class was overthrown by the peasants due to dissatisfaction after the war, if the people simply wanted the two Princes to become their new ruling class if the original King had no heirs, or if the original head was a causality of the Great War.
It could also be that the Great War happened first, and with AZ’s firing of the weapon, it stirred Eternatus into awakening a few years later, since there’s no exact date to when the Darkest Day happened, and that’s when Dynamaxing began to occur in the Galar region. I also like to think that this is because wishing stars and power spots are so prevalent across the land, they actually absorbed the Infinity Energy that would have doused Galar, and instead redirected it towards Eternatus, who utilized it to try and return to its Eternemax form, inadvertently causing the Darkest Day.
