I like how the game actually feels snappy and responsive to play whereas in SWSH just the menus feel like i've got 1-2 seconds of latency for basic inputs.
I felt the same way about Gen 7, actually.

It's probably the fps. Gen 6 ran at 60 fps so things visually looked more responsive and felt more snappy.
By comparison, SM capped the menus and boxes at 30 with dips like the rest of the game, so if you've played a Gen 5/6 game where they actually prioritized functionality in the menus it's a little jarring.

it was pointless filler all around. even with all the lovely aesthetic and a few QoL gameplay aspects, there's absolutely no point in playing this game since SwSh came out, or at least after all the Season Pass and Go updates. Anyone who wants an updated Gen 1 should just stick with FRLG, a shitty remake that at least follows the gen 3 engine but self-contains itself to its genwun roots til you're done with postgame

I was never mad at it, some people seemed to hate it but I think it was fine, sure I'll always like the older games that are pretty much exactly the same thing, they have that magic in them, but this one was a good way to introduce new people to the very original games without them having to go back in time since some people just don't get pixels anymore.

It's clear GF can make a passable game if they don't have 200+ pokemon to model and animate.

It's sad to think that the dexcut may actually be worth it if they just push themselves a bit more, and make a smaller dex (and hopefully add the other pokemon in an update or dlc later).

I would rather a good game with 200 Pokemon and phenomenal adjustments than a shit game with 400 Pokemon with no adjustments and a small handful of the rest get added but not all of them because that doesn't sell Home subscriptions.
There's a reason pre-bank XY was so magical while the entirety of Gens 7 and 8 have been grating.

The universe where you remember that even switching fingers is still faster than not having to and still being delayed by latency for literally every single input.
Not to mention, you can play LGPE in handheld and it feels exactly like Gen 5 in terms of speed and design. Comf.

I actually think Let's Go has a lot of potential. It had a nice consistent art style, it perfected following pokemon, and it managed to keep the function of HMs without forcing you to waste a move slot or use pokemon that were unrelated to you. While trickling features and pokemon back in isn't ideal, I think if they did a Crystal Let's Go remake it could be really good. Let's Go 2 with held items, breeding, and the Johto mons could be great. You just need to fix the catching.
