There's no reason Pokemon couldn't take a page out of Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, or Fire Emblem and given a little more freedom with the scaling algorithm, skippable dialogue sequences, or a small but tight-knit roster of mons that made sense for the region.
Instead we got none of those and SWSH is a glorified ad for Pokemon Home.
