One is a handheld, the other is primarily a home console. THere is your explaination. Most fans of the other franchises never cared to get a handheld. Pokemon was exclusive to those, so we had to buy them.

Shills like to quote the 19 million statistic while ignoring context.
The Switch is a massively popular console. Previous Pokemon titles were console sellers. People would get a DS or 3DS just for Pokemon. But now it's more like people already had a Switch and got SwSh because they might as well. And SwSh released right before a global pandemic. Pokemon games are the perfect time killers because of how many Pokemon there are to just run around and catch, and people have more time to kill now than ever.
SwSh probably could've been one of the best selling games of all time if it wasn't shit.

You're retarded. Rounding numbers, there's almost 70 million switch consoles sold and 19 million copies of SwSh. That's almost a 27% attachment rate. That's insane for any game on any console. Essentially 1 in 4 switch owners bough the game.

It's incredibly likely. People calling it a "flop" like to compare it to BOTW's sales number for some reason but BOTW took nearly 4 years to sell 19.74 million copies. SwSh sold 19 million in 2 meaning it's selling twice as fast as BOTW. If it retains the same insane long-term sales everything else on the Switch has (Like Mario Kart 8 is only selling better each year IIRC) then it's going to easily be the most sold after the original.

Shit that's right my bad. Not sure what I was thinking. And I'm pretty sure the physical DLC cart is going to show a boost because there are a lot of Pokemon collectors who buy every version and they're likely going to buy both of those carts.

The numbers you should be looking at are XY's, because it continued to sell, even after ORAS launched. Same deal here, Sinnoh remakes won't affect SS's sales. But hey, ignore precedent.
