Been a while since I saw one of these threads.

I haven't even finished his sprite, lost all my trainer sprites off my computer.

Anyway,

Name: Smith Weston
Trainer Class: Rancher

A rancher and owner of Gunsteel Ranch located outside Driftveil City, Unova. Raises Tauros and Bouffalant for a living.
Also a breeder of Remoraid, as I'd like to think they'd be popular as a means of self defense for regions not as open to private gun ownership.

Also a big fan of trying out new cuisine and has a habit of trying to get his hands on recipes that are hard to get ahold of.

Not a type specialist, but all the pokemon I have picked out for him all keep to a western theme, minus a Piplup, I'd say his favorite type is probably steel.

Drawing Challenge: Despite being a bug type fanatic, Jonno actually started with a baby Totodile gifted to him by one of his many cousins. Since an incident involving angry wild Scolipedes left him hospitalized and mentally messed for ages he ended up missing the "traditional" age of 10 to start his journey so he didn't receive his first Pokemon until years after that. His bug fascination would come back later, but his now-Feraligatr Chompers is still one of his strongest, most trustworthy mon.

QotT: Bug, of course. They loved bugs since they were young and would love watching them just vibe in the forests and bushes near his home. As he grew older and started learning/loving battles he wanted to show off the latent potential of Bug types so he became a "Forest" Gym Leader - not STRICTLY a bug specialist, but there was a focus on it (though he still throws surprises like Rhyperior into his gym teams to catch challengers off guard.)

Least favourite? Probably poison due to what happened to him as a kid. He actually actively hated Scolipedes and their entire family for donkeys years until - in an attempt to get over it, he took in an injured Venipede and nursed it back to health wherein he trained it and it evolved into a Scolipede over a long period of time.

Firearms in Pokemon isn't something a lot of people focus on. I'd like to hear more about how you envision them in this setting - is it something relatively common, kind of rare for most kinds of people, or are they regulated/restricted in most places to only police or armed forces personnel?

I think subconsciously I've been accidentally following this guide my whole life. Most of this is like, the exact process I have for creating characters and then once I'm at that point is where I struggle with where to actually take them.

I guess that might just be a direct effect of most of my character making used for RPGs and stuff, so they're never meant to have a journey and an end in mind. Wish I could shake that habit though, since I've been coming up with more and more characters I can't really play lately.

Personally I think some regions would follow real life trends and restrict access, only letting law enforcement, rangers, etc use them. Much like the early anime where you have Jenny brandishing a rifle and that one Safari Zone owner with a revolver.

Both really, dude would be a big gourmet and always be trying to find his next white wailmer. Though one idea I've had for him is infiltrating Team Rocket to steal Giovanni's old family recipies.

Here's some questions I thought of since the last thread.

What is your OC's job? Do they like their job? Is it a life-long career for them, or just something temporary? Do their pokemon fit the "theme" of their job, and do they train pokemon that could help them with their job? Does your OC only have a single team, or do they have boxes full of pokemon?

Does your OC have an overarching storyline or character arc? If so, where do you view them along that arc - do you think of them as just beginning it, at its climax, at its end, or somewhere else? Or, do you view their personal timeline as being flexible and go with whatever fits best for whatever you're using them for at the time?

What do you primilarly use your OC for? Artwork, roleplaying, writing stories, or even just daydreaming about them? Is your OC meant to be a self insert character, someone who isn't really a self insert but shares many of your traits, or are they someone completely different from yourself?

Grass as he's had a natural connection to them since he was very smol. Though Fairy has been something that's grown on him in the past few months of his adventure.

He doesn't hate or really dislike the type its more so just a cautionary kind of thing: Poison. He can't hate something that can't fully control its effect on the environment and land around it. Its just he's saddened when he sees so much corruption done to a garden or forest from its natural order via poison and also fire. Again this isn't really the "types" fault.

No, at least not by game mechanics. He's just a lover of nature and therefore Grass (and the magical fey Fairies who also care about nature) fit him like a glove. Nature is his Muse and inspires all the time to create new things, see new things, and learn to chill with your Poke-Bros.

He's a musician in a currently on hiatus band compromised of himself two of his humans friends, and a ton of their pokemon. He L O V E S his job and would call this his career.

Some of them follow the theme of his whole performing role more directly: Lilligant, Chimecho, Kricketune, Primarina, and Ludicolo come to mind. But as a whole each Pokemon in his team has something they can choose to bring to the table to aid in this work. He never forces his Pokemon to do anything at all, so its more if *they* want to help with the band and in that case a lot of them love to after spending a lot of time with him. His Gardevoir, Luxray, Lopunny, Butterfree, Sylveon, and Machamp all value the cheers, money, adoration, and inspiring presence the work gives.

He has befriended/captured the following Pokemon: Lilligant, Luxray, Lopunny, Gardevoir, Primarina, Medicham, Ludicolo, Crobat, Sirfetch'd, Butterfree, Chimecho, Sylveon, Krickitune, Sawsbuck, Machamp, Bronzong, and Shaymin. His normal team consists of the Lilligant, Luxray, Lopunny, Gardevoir, Primarina, Medicham, and he has a special 7th slot for Shaymin. The other mons usually stay in a PC though I plan on working to figure out a way they can be more free while not with him. He has a home/recording studio in Eterna Forest they could stay in.

Brent's grown a little bit throughout the TTRPG campaign I'm using him in not much however. And I think that's just due to the story not really being focused so much on the trainers themselves or even the Pokemon in the party, but more so the events that transpire around them. If any changes have been made over time, I'd say Brent's gotten a hellova lot stronger in a very short time frame. He's never been a violent person, but this journey has tested him many times with that. He has had to hurt many people and Pokemon who have been trying to kill him, his friends, and family for months now. He's been blessed by Shaymin, Uxie, Mesperit, and Azelf and is about to fight Arceus with a bunch of his friends who've also been blessed... he was just a simple passionate and pacifistic performer who liked nature and inspiring people to be their best.. now he's a Messiah who's about to give the world free will and help pokemon be more free by breaking some cosmic laws. He hasn't killed anyone still btw! But god damn man... Brent's so tired.
Though he's young still, he's pretty mature so I don't think he'd be changing too much in his future.

Roleplayng Games. I don't usually make characters for things not related to games unless I'm writing some creative story for whatever reason. He's not a self insert (I don't feel I'm anywhere near as talented or charismatic, strong, quirky, etc as him), but he does share my desires to help people in some way in life. I will say Brent's a bit more selfish than I am when it comes to money and fame. I don't really care about that too much, but he cares a lot about both of those things. In fact I'll say that might be something that lessens with age, he might hit an apex point when he's older and start to wind down after that.

Yes and no; Her main roster leans heavily toward Steel but it was intended to be ground.
Why ground?
She feels more comfortable with solid and still things, opposed to things she cant see as easily - like small bugs.

Smith's job is a rancher, but he does remoraid breeding on the side.
I'd say it's a lifelong career, it puts food on the table, he's good at it, and he's not adverse to doing it.

Most of his pokemon are from around the ranch and have their own duties, such as a group of Cacturne he uses to deter rustlers and other pokemon.
He doesn't have boxes unless you count the ones he breeds or raises on the ranch.

Don't have an arc for him just yet, I haven't been able to use or really ponder him much. I'm hoping to further develop them in these threads or in an rp or something.

Most of these are pretty obvious answers for Molly. Fairy is favorite, Poison is least favorite, she's a Fairy Ace Trainer.
But as for why fairy types are her favorite I don't think I've answered that.

Molly was homeschooled because her parents didn't think any of the schools around Sinnoh would do their little girl justice so they hired professional tutors instead. Molly was largely uninterested until she learned of fairy types in one of her lessons. She felt each one she saw was prettier than the last and felt that spark of inspiration flare up inside her. She wanted to be a trainer with the cutest Pokemon! Mawile in particular caught her fancy and that spiraled into an odd obsession the family had to deal with for a while but that's a story for another time.
Her older siblings who had a penchant for bullying Molly derided her for wanting to handle weak, cutesy Fairies that couldn't stand up to "REAL" Pokemon.

So between her love of pretty Pokemon and her desire to spite and overcome her shitty siblings is where her love of the type originates. Fitting enough for a fairy specialist I feel.

Also, in the server we started making these bio cards for an OC Dex channel. Get a list of actives goin. We can drop the template if anyone wants to take a crack at it.

Haven't thought much about them aside from their type specialty but they're poshy students in a highly regarded academy. Left is the leader of the band team and right spends her time online as an e-celeb. I don't have much new art to share, but I did make a league card earlier in the night, thought it'd be nice to share. And happy new thread, everyone! I hope the new year has been alright for y'all so far!
To answer the question of the thread, Ming-Ming LOVES dragon-types most of all! She's not a specialist by any means, her team theme is basically all over the place, but with dragons, she loves them because they're big, strong, and she loves seeing the faces they make from eating lots of food, too! It's not a surprise some people tease her as being a "kaiju mama".
Her least favorite type's probably Ghost. She doesn't have many ghosts on her side, and with her headstrong personality, she wonders sometimes if Ghost-types and her just don't have any affinity towards one another. She also feels like most Fighting-types aren't really her scene, but she'd also add in that the likes of Brawly's machoness doesn't help either.

Molly's only job is to rocket herself and fairy types into stardom. All of her pokemon beyond one are two are fairies to aid in that. She has an assortment of fairies she's captured over the years but instead of sending them to some PC Box she sends them home and has the mansion staff tend to them.

I view Molly's timeline as something more vague than super solid. In my headcanon where she's at "currently" is around 5 years into her journey from when she started at 14. She's not yet a fairy master but still some people are taking notice of for her skills rather than just her family name. So to answer the question she's probably like, right in the "middle" of the overarching story.
I can shove meetings with others or any happenings like the "mega evolution incident" somewhere behind her in those 5 years comfortably without forcing a definite timeline.

Molly is her own character I thought up when I was in my early teens. I was using her for pokemon battle royale/zatch bell style fanfiction before shelving the idea.
Years later I used her for RP reasons. The /vp/OC RP actually! I used to handle the old thread IRC before that shit exploded.
These days I unearthed her again for tabletop game purposes and that's where I've started her "official canon". The Tabletop timeline and the "canon" timeline differ in places to match my needs but they're still similar.
I'd also like to start writing stories on how she met each of her main team but FUCK knows when I'll get off my lazy ass for that.

Back alley doctor/vet, as for his opinion on it. What's not to like? Business is always booming with the number of kids running round with pet razorblades. And the money's great.

Yes and No. Some pokemon are used for parts, Like a Skarmory used for scalpels and a Altaria for cotton buds, but some are just there because they are cool. Or rescues.

Dnd style stuff, mainly shitposting in roll20 and bullshit adventures. Based more around the Manga, so things like injuries and more edgy shit happens all the time.

Amanita loves bug types. She loves how creepy and cute they are, but also the elegance and hardness. She spends most of the time during her journey following them around, studying their behaviour and how they influence their environment. If you want to understand a forest follow its bug types.

Her bug types are the perfect scouts for her studies. Coming in all sizes and shapes there is no forest or cave they cannot explore or wild pokémon they cannot trail, but aside from that she doesn’t have a team that’s specific for her naturalistic study. Her buddies just honed skills that could help their trainer in her activities as they travelled together.

I've never liked this concept that a person has to have a team that matches the job they have. People don't work that way, take for example pets, just because a person has a sheepdog, doesn't mean they herd sheep.

Ming-Ming's a traveling chef! Selling her wares to trainers, helping patching Pokemon up to good health, these avenues lead to money. Money can be exchanged for goods and services (Like taxi rides in Kalos for example, good gracious that region's quite huge!)
She's had a dream to create a restaurant that's fully Pokemon staffed, thinking it could be a cute way to keep her Pokemon active while also sharing the benefits of a good meal to other people!
A lot of Ming-Ming's Pokemon tend to be dragons/dragon-like, or just plain cute, rather than fulfilling a particular "theme". Dianran right here, her Salazzle, is a pretty good hot plate when it comes to cooking on the go. I've recently sectioned Ming-Ming's Pokemon based on whether they're for her battle squad, her adventuring one, for her restaurant, so on so on. Not only to help me keep some of my documents organized, but it does help others understand what her role is!
Of course, this is based all around one particular canon of Ming-Ming - I could only imagine what Pokemon she'd have in a different story, like the ORAS to this current Ming-Ming's RS.

Hmmmm, see, Ming-Ming at the moment has been relegated to an NPC I suppose? She shows up from time to time, has items to sell, people could give her ingredients to make _other_ food items... She's been through quite a bit, such as collecting each one of every elemental Z crystal to fully assemble her own Z-Ring, when it comes the tabletop's canon. Of course she had the help of many friends, but the current set of Z-Crystals she has, the ring she wears, she'll always thank the people she's met for them!

I like commissioning art! It's fun to support an artist or a buddy, and it's fun to get art of my OCs in general, especially if the artist like them, like if you ever wanted a bump of dopamine, a compliment is worth quite a bit!

Jonno is a gym leader in the RP group I'm a part of (removed from that canon, he'd be a gym leader in-training) and it's for sure lifelong - he loves battles and all his cousins are crazy good at them, so he wants to take that knowledge and apply it in a new way and be something of an authority on it. Hell, within the RP group he's the one that actually establishes the league challenge for that region.

As for his Pokemon, they're for sure tied to the theme...for the most part. While he prefers bug types the most his gym theme is the "Forest" Gym, so it's not exclusive to just bug types for one. For two, however, he likes to prepare trainers for the unexpected and will use unconventional or left-field Pokemon like Rhyperior to throw challengers off and make them improvise. Has at least 2 boxes worth of Pokemon and will make new teams near every day for fun.

>Overarching storyline/arc
Their personal timeline is pretty flexible given that he's used primarily in an RP group - the league has enough gym leaders now, he recently got over a death of another player character (who actually hated Jonno's guts but imparted some very useful wisdom that helped Jonno grow as a person), and plans for the championship are closely reaching their deadline - he's good rn.

They're used primarily for the RP/DnD group and Artwork - gives me a great excuse to use a lot of Pokemon in showdowns and other environments when I would normally pass them up in the mainline games! And yes, Jonno was designed as something of a self insert - I had planned to make a bunch of comics based on the mainline games a la Nuzlockes where all the main characters have the same appearance but different personalities and backstories because they would all be a family a la Don George or Nurse Joy - said appearance being based on mine. This version of Jonno was made to go with that idea, but with my own traits exaggerated for funnies

I come from the old school when it comes to fanwriting, making self-inserts was a big no-no back in those days. I've met people who are more lenient when it comes to what people write about, which honestly I do find pretty neat to see, but old tricks die hard.
I prefer to create and write characters based on the world. I like learning new things, which in turn can help give me inspiration on a new character, or even what to do with them. Obviously I have a lot of bias for smaller scale stories - I've read so much SJ manga you wouldn't believe it - but I just enjoy being a storyteller, and quite frankly I'd feel really strange to make a character based on myself, even if cringe culture's dead now.

Finding the careful balance is very and truly important. While I wouldn't say every artist in Pokemon _needs_ a Smeargle, a soft consideration for one wouldn't be bad. If anything, maybe making a new OC could be the chance to try out a Pokemon no one's ever considered to be a valued partner. Devon Corp. agent, formerly a Ranger. The job is decent but he took it for the money and would rather be with the rangers.

His current team is a combination of his strongest and utilitarian Pokemon, designed to handle as many scenarios as possible. He has several other Pokemon that could be rotated in or out when needed (about 6). He favors trained, cohesive units - quality over quantity.

I had gotten this commission of Molly and her Togekiss, Tuff, the other day.
Tuff WAS an innocent and soft hearted member of Molly's team, but upon his final evolution he became the overly playful and mischievous tuft of energy he is today. He's a loyal and crafty Pokemon in battle but in his spare time he loves spending his time getting a rise out of Molly, usually by fakeout divebombs.
Despite being run ragged by this chubby eggbird, Molly loves Tuff dearly and relies on him for long distance transportation.

Funfact: She has a custom seat cushion hooked to a cable that Tuff carries in his talons so she can ride in comfort and style. It looks like she's being excessive but it's mainly because the first time she tried to fly on his back he went so fast she started crying and refused to release her deathgrip even hours after they'd finally landed.

Adeline does small-scale freelance construction with her ants and bees. It’s a job she likes a fair bit, since she has a hard time with loose instructions and building is a very number-by-number activity. She keeps the job but switches main professions to children’s summer camp captain as an adult

No overarching one, but they do have a backstory with it and their character carrying found family, and triumph over inborn hardship though hard work and family as themes. In the “present” they do tie into Hornbeam’s deal though

I imagine that Mega Evolution is insanely powerful but it's stupid hard to control for long. You're essentially filling your Pokemon with berserker energy and then tying your mind to them through the keystones.

Molly was allowed the use of a mega ring to aid in her quest for Fairy Dominance. She and Cordelia got these huge power boosting materials and immediately set off to use them while being overly confident. Sadly, Cordelia immediately lost control of her senses and started raging, destroying things and chewing through whatever she could with her new set of jaws. During the rampage, Molly was hit with the most splitting of headaches and stopped to her knees barely managing to stay conscious.
Eventually she dragged herself over to the raging Mawile to try and force her to calm down physically but got got nothing but sharp teeth tearing down her side. The pain was enough to just make Molly drop like a rock which severed the connection, forcing Cordelia to change back.
Molly was rescued by nearby folks investigating the sounds of destruction. When she awoke she found herself in the hospital with Cordelia at her side wearing the most remorseful expression she'd ever seen. The first time she'd ever been sorry about anything, really.
Molly's parents attempted to keep her from adventuring any more but she refused, threatening to break out anyway when they weren't home and then cut ties with them. It was a bluff but her parents questioned her no further.

After Molly had healed enough to leave she began convincing her frightened Mawile to give it another shot. Cordelia relented eventually and they gave it another try, focusing on controlling it rather than just foolishly expanding their power. It took months but they finally got it down to a usable state for at least 10 minutes. Not really at full power either. I figure it'll take more years and battles to perfect it.
Molly now has a permanent scar that wont completely fade running down her side and Cordelia finds herself ill at ease when faced with it. She tends to run her hands along the marred skin when the two are alone, remembering her unspoken, inner vow to protect the human girl she'd become so attached to.

Fu works as a trainer/challenger inside of a dragon gym! It's only something temporary for her, though, as she aspires to become the gym leader herself. Her pokemon mostly fit the theme of her job and she trains most of her pokemon to help he with battling for work, outside of doing it out of love. The only pokemon she has that she doesn't use for work is Charmander since he's a fire type. She only has a single team.

Similar hair styles/colours and slight personality traits line up, but she's not meant to be a self insert in the slightest.

Alex's favorite types are Bug and Ice. He's specialized in each at different points in his life, but abandoned the concept to focus on a more balanced team. During his time in university, he came to realize that specializing in individual types was a far less versatile and less effective strategy than specializing in specific archetypes, and developed a love for very fast and hard-hitting hyper offensive teams. They were his favorite types because in his youth he was a bit of a Dan, and wanted to "prove" that the weakest types were actually just as strong as all the others. As he grew up, he realized that was stupid and stopped trying to do that, but still kept an appreciation for them.

Even sidestepping the fact that Unova, being based off of the United States, would probably have very loose gun restrictions, why Remoraid. While I understand Remoraid are revolver-esque, when looking for personal safety, why would someone choose a small fish that can shoot water and ice okay when their other options are things like Magneton or Meowstic. It can't be portability, Remoraid can't fit in your hand. And, depending on how much stock you put into it, require water. They aren't particularly strong, their movepool isn't terribly diverse. Someone looking for self-defense against other humans would look to a Pokemon that knew status moves, like Thunder Wave, Sleep Powder, Flash, and Confuse Ray. There are more easily concealed Pokemon that are both stronger, and have better movesets for debilitating others. Solosis, Shroomish, and Klefki all come to mind.

Pokemon are the premiere means of self-defense and conflict resolution in the franchise. I think there's definitely room for firearms in the setting, but that doesn't mean firearm-esque Pokemon accomplish the same task. You're not thinking this through, here, you're just taking the gun Pokemon and making a direct substitution for guns, when they super aren't.

My guy is a rancher, in the "My Pokemon Ranch" meaning of the term. You know how Ash's Pokemon live at Professor Oak's lab when they're not in his party? Well, not everyone is gonna' know Professor Oak, now are they? Way I see it, Ranches are the answer to that. Places where people can send their Pokemon to be looked after and taken care of, whether that be because they have a full team, because they want someone to learn
a new move, because you're going on vacation, because some of their Pokemon aren't suited for a trainer's home-- say, you raised a Steelix before you retired and live in an apartment now. Whatever the reason, ranches are the answer to long-term Pokemon caretaking, in a setting incongruous with PC boxes. Whether you're cool with the idea of storing Pokemon as data for indeterminate lengths of time is up to you, I suppose, but I've always liked the anime's approach.

Humbert loves his job. His entire Pokemon Journey was essentially figuring out what he wanted to do with his life, and he settled on a a job that plays to his major strengths, requiring a combination of caretaking, nurturing, cooking, conflict resolution, and move tutoring. It's a career, and starting up his own business was a major investment that took up all the savings he'd accrued while travelling. The Pokemon he owns don't fit the theme of his job, quite, as they're from his Trainer days-- the team's theme from that perspective is more abstract. But, all of his Pokemon do help out at the Ranch, and were huge in preparing the land; especially the lake, and the caves. This is Humbert at the end of his journey, but I'll play earlier, and I'm not afraid to deviate in the middle

It comes with the territory of back alley doctor. As long as you have the cash, anything is on the table.
I try to follow the idea of a neutral medic, working for both sides, rockets or trainers. But most of the time it just looks pretty evil.
Looking to make your pokemon do more damage? Why not give them dental implants. Maybe some new claws. Some poisons to coat your pokemon in before the big fight. Or some not so over the counter medication.
Vigilante got shot trying to do... something? Sure slap them on the table patch em up send them on there way.

But that all depends on the settings really.

Evasion training, he also teaches his partners how to fight as a team (His Pokemon don't fight alone) and inspires them to be their best selves.

A lot of people & pokemon are bit too quick SOMETIMES to attack first and not really try to talk something out. Violence is a regular occurrence in the Pokemon world and he understands that Pokemon do it for many different reasons: Learning to respect one another, getting stronger, defending their territory, tests of skills, etc. But SOMETIMES a lot of times its just fighting for fighting sake of fighting (Or worse in the case of Trainer v Trainer its pure entertainment to vanity) and it could just have been avoided entirely. And unlike the regular Pokemon Game Universe, Pokemon and People get injured in his setting, so not only is hurting someone (Pokemon or Person) fully capable of killing them it can have injuries that stick thereafter the fight making subsequent fights much harder.

He wants to die peacefully in his sleep with those that love him around him like a withering flower.... BUTTTT knowing him he's going to die by getting murdered by a Pokemon. I do think thats pretty hard considering how strong Brent alone is without his Pokemon, but I could see him dying by protecting a Pokemon or Human in peril cause he has almost died on....6+(?) occasions doing that exact thing. He has taken bullets, critical hits, knife wounds, more critical hits, Sacred Fire, Aeroblast, getting stabbed by lances, more getting shot at, and nearly falling to his death several times. Its a forgone conclusion that Brent defending others is going to get him killed by the end of this.

This. This, I like. I've always been on the fence about including the PC storage system in my headcanon, I've never really liked it from a lore perspective. I also preferred the anime's approach of having it just be a long-distance teleporter sort of deal, and having the Pokemon physically live somewhere else under someone's care.
I also really resonate with Humbert's story, there. My main character developed much the same - starting out without much of a direction and then finding it over time. What I plotted out for him was a little different (a sanctuary as opposed to a ranch like yours) but I really like seeing someone else go that "retire to caretaking" path.

I'm of the opinion that, while storing a Pokemon as data temporarily to transfer or trade them from one location to the other is okay because it's only a couple of seconds, storing them in a computer for weeks or months on end is kind of inhumane. The PC is a game abstraction, more than anything else, one which already has parallels to the Oak's Lab set up from the show. Just without requiring like a cutscene or a delay where some human gives you your guys. We even saw some canon Ranch-style caretaking in SM/USUM, with Mohn's islands! It just makes a lot more sense, when you're trying to translate a video game into a living world, to extrapolate a few things. For all the anime's faults, it's a great reference point for Pokemon as a setting rather than a battle sim.

I've always held that a Pokemon Journey is supposed to be a coming of age story. The point for every trainer isn't to be the best and beat the E4. Very few trainers will manage to take up training as a career-- just the Aces. Everyone else does it as a side thing. The point of backpacking across regions on a grand adventure is to learn about the world and yourself, to open yourself up to new experiences and discover who you are, and also to play with a bunch of silly pets. Gyms are a useful benchmark for personal and martial growth, that's all. A Journey is about discovering your place in the world.

It's not a bad idea to start with a low number and work your way up from there.
Personally when I first started working on Ming-Ming, I went with a core of 3 Pokemon (Arcanine, Espeon, Vibrava), which over time has changed quite a bit from her first incarnation.
Maybe an ace Pokemon could help, maybe just a group of Fun Favorites your OC likes, there's no need to rush. Just go with what feels right to you, no pressure!

Out of all the forests in the (known) Pokemon world he has a hard time when it comes to Pinwheel Forest due to the accident that happened there, but even then he loves them all. If he had to pick his top three though:

1) Relic Forest / Ilex Forest (tied because of their unreal serenity and also his minor fascination with Celebi)

2) Glimwood Tangle

3) Viridian Forest - which you'd think would be higher up since its part of his home region.

As for his bug, that's actually a funny story (and I'd be curious to know how you know it if you're not one of the other server regulars), but TLDR it was his (at the time) Larvesta that was still getting to grips with its fire moves during a Bug Catching Contest. In an attempt to try and make a controlled burn to clear away some debris in the way, it ended up using (and learning) Inferno which resulted in two forest fires happening within 30 minutes of each other which were thankfully quelled before they got out of hand.

The irony is not lost on him however, as the chaotic nature of the region he's in and the company he has in his even more chaotic friends often results in fires breaking out at his gym/community centre - sometimes even in the pool area. He attributes it to karma for the forest and just deals with it - he actually thinks it's funny in a cosmic sort of way.

I've always hated showing my drawings unless I felt a little proud of them, but if I keep hiding behind that excuse, then I feel it will end up hurting me more in the long run.
So here's an OC I've been working on recently. The one on the right was made early this month to test some colors, and the other is what I'm trying to draw more seriously. I'm struggling a bit, specially with the legs and I'd like to know what others think about what I have so far, and if anyone has some tips that could help me improve more.

And she doesn't have a name yet, but she's a wannabe priestess, or miko, but I still feel a bit weeb saying that... and she hunts down people who she thinks are heretics, just to end up all embarrassed once she realizes her mistake. And the fakemon there was just a quick sketch, I might redesign it later.

What I always love seeing, personally, is when characters are theme specialists more than they are type specialists. Especially with fishermen, who have a lot of amphibious non-water Pokemon to play around with. Stunfisk, Clobbopus, Inkay, Dhelmise, Dratini, Tynamo, Dragalge, Bergmite, Cursola, Pinchurin, Eiscue, and, debatably, Croagunk and Cubchoo, are all conceivably fishable. There are probably a few more I'm not thinking of, at the moment.

One of the major factors in deciding on a Galvantula for my guy was for its fishing practicality-- spider silk for fishing line, and Electroweb to bag larger Pokemon.

Molly bristles any time she feels herself letting her guard down around anyone, not wanting to show weakness. For instance say she ended up in a deep talk with someone and started opening up about her inner feelings. Once she was aware of what she was doing she'd blush and cut the conversation off immediately and either leave or get the other person to. This makes it harder for her to make friends unless the person is someone overwhelmingly charismatic, pushy, or someone she respects/fears too much to raise her voice to.

Her Mawile is her tankiest Pokemon purely because that's just how the species is.

They've performed at least once at each major city or town in the Sinnoh region as they were touring. The highest profile place they ever got to perform on was this researchers cruse ship, it might not sound like much but these were some high end top tier researchers (Aka THEY GOT MAD MONEY!) from all around the world who were researching stuff on the Adamant Orb...I don't think he and his band got paid for this event, considering terrorist's blew up the ship before it docked on Iron Island.
They did perform for them though.

Roswell can get into a loop of avoiding human contact for long periods of times, especially as a way of coping with trauma. Although Himiko and Cosmas can both see and try to urge him to do so, it often takes actual human intervention for him to do this.

Roswell really likes playing up the strengths of his Pokemon rather than going with his own style. Although he prefers a more aggressive style, he knows that Cosmas and Himiko aren't entirely meant for that.

I mentioned before that she's a hyperintelligent sassy bitch but she also acts as the appeal of emotions to Roswell. Her intellect leads her to doing things based on emotions, but only because she chases new experiences. In her search for understanding, she pursues her emotion. That's why she's perfectly fine with the party eating her shed tails and even partaking in self-cannibalism. Himiko isn't using that tail, and it'd be a waste to let them rot. In addition to all this, she's a bit more social than Roswell and often the one to lead him into the city.
While Himiko is pathos in the form of logos, Cosmas fills in with logos in the form of pathos. He is a traumatized, timid creature who can tell when he's pained and often acts like a moral compass to him. The Audino also draws him back away from people when he gets too attached to things. Cosmas wishes for things to be simple, small in scope, and easy to understand. He believes that people are the cause for his trauma, having been tossed aside by them before, and only really trusts Roswell.
This leads to Roswell being ethos, or the appeal of character. He's an idealist who tries to balance out Himiko's passion with Cosmas' cautious. However, without his Pokemon pushing him, the trainer becomes passive. He responds to the wills of his Pokemon more than anything else. An empathetic soul, but he lacks the social skills to use the empathy on anyone. It only really works on Pokemon.

I do want to keep this sort of idea but not because he doesn't understand people. I built Roswell originally in mind as what I'd see could highlight what I wanted out of the Pokemon setting the most: the dynamics between people and Pokemon. I thought someone who had trouble with people but had more confidence with wild Pokemon would make for an interesting character. It's definitely part of what Roswell needs to work on. I'll try to make it less "Mary Sue bullshit" though. Thanks for roasting me like this.

Her Furfrou is somewhat stuck up now that it's gotten older from the nice life she's living now. But if they both ever see a pokemon in need of aid, they're there to help.

I sorted through Pokemon I liked to find ways for them to fit. Delphox sterilizes and heats stuff, Alolatales keeps samples frozen, Porygon lives in his laptop and pirates... acquires documents and software, Magnezone provides power for his equipment, Venusaur is for transport/extracting chemicals and Slowpoke is basically a metaphor for himself.

No use for Aspen yet, just a fun thing for these threads.

So this is pretty similar to how Brent does things with his 'mons. In the game I use him in there are two versions of combat that we deal with: League Battles & Full-Contact Battles. In game its centered more around Full-Contact ones, so he's very adept at fighting side by side his Pokemon. He's not the fisticuffs sort of fellow, but he's got Druid (Grass), Glamour Weaver (Fairy), Musician (Sound based moves), and a special class called the Messaih (He can perform Mircales like healing people, reviving the dead, he could restore a destroyed forest, etc). He trained with his Lilligant in honing his grass skills, his Gardevoir in Fairy, and he's just been a Musician a long enough time to where his abilities in that regard has been just him training a lot. This sort of style comes at a cost.
His League Battling skills aren't as high as it could be. The game has a hard rule limit 4 normal classes per trainer, Brent only has 1 that's built for non-full contact fights: Cheerleader! He really good at inspiring his pokemon to be their best (They have high evasion, movement, can survive hits that would normally KO them). But that's all the can do, there are much more capable people in the world he's in who could imo curb stop him in a League Battle.

Good thing he doesn't do those much. While he doesn't like hurting people he hates seeing his Pokemon get hurt alone. He promised them that no matter what they always get to choose who they want to fight or if at all, and if they are fighting he's always going to fight right by their side (Or double battles if they want to fight in a league battle) taking the pain just as much as they are. His pokemon learned a lot about him from this and gotten them really close.

For Molly, she wants to do multiple things to boost herself into the spotlight but isn't working towards just one singular way to go about it.
She wants to try to become champion of a region, she wants to win multiple regional Master Rank contests, she wants to go around and "save" people but only after they agree to spread tales of her wonder.
By steadily making it into the news she'll gain notoriety for being "The Girl Who Wields the Fae" and through her fame Fairies will be seen as more than just cutesy weak Pokemon. That's her plan anyway.
I picture that her main downfall is that by not focusing on one thing she's spreading herself thin and won't be able to achieve the greatness she truly wants. No one can feasibly be a master of all these hobbies without being some kind of prodigy. But until she realizes that she'll have to deal with just being carried by her money and family name.

Ohhh, that's actually some really cool lore building! The way a friend of mine woulda described Full-Contact battles is the system of Torna: The Golden Country. If you ever played it, it's where two people team up to do attacks together, so you could tag in one person of a team, they get a bonus effect from entry, and you mix and match them in-game to continue the combo.

Which honestly, hearing about Brent and his Pokemon, I can already get a good feeling about his team's dynamic! I'm surprised to hear about his League battling skills not being up to snuff. Maybe having a coach or someone to help him get a good feel for the League battle meta might him out?

In Ming-Ming's case, she mostly _dabbles_ in league stuff. She's collected some badges from regions here and there, but she's definitely a lot more focused on the adventuring part! Saving cats from trees, finding cool locations in the world. I imagine she'd be extra excited if someone wanted to help her out when it comes to getting good at league stuff, though! Maybe some day, Brent and Ming-Ming could be friendly rivals with one another!

He knows how to fight in league battles, but due to how classes work I really can't do anything to make him better at fighting. She doesn't have a training regimen perse but something interesting she does is:
Dahlia probably sets up her Zorua's illusions, test how in-depth they can get set the tone, while her Flabebe sets the tone utilizing her move combinations to set the mood.
She tried to get zorua to also take the appearance of someone in the crowd while doing this.
Besides that, when it's a coordinator battle, she focuses on the harder moves first then focuses down to easy.
An example of her easy move is:

Smack Talk. - Confide(Flabebe) + Sucker Punch(Zorua)

Extremely difficult she's still learning is Eclipsing moon. - Moonblast(Flabebe) + Pursuit (Zorua)+ Psychic(Flabebe).

This leaves them wide open for an attack, functions like volt tackle? or wild charge
They still can't get this move to work, which leads to them failing, She probably needs more people to help her with this, like friends if she ever makes some rather than random people she finds on the road.
But after a hard day of work, She does some RnR with them and lay down beside a lake or tree and just take a nap for the remainder of the day, if they are out in a city? some guilty pleasures of puffins or poke blocks/ gourmet food and a nice bed they can sleep in.

Brent's birthday is on February 7th. He & his Lilligant have a joint birthday party as they have the same birthday! On his 25th birthday (and her 15th Birthday) They celebrated with a party, dinner, group dance off (Did you know a Medicham who reached Enlightenment can cut a fuckin' rug??), and they exchanged gifts! He got both of them matching anniversary lockets with pictures of them when they were kids and she got him new seeds for their garden and she surprised him with a harmonica serenade.

But speaking on the topic of the coupon?
I do agree with your sentiment that it works with any store IS kinda dumb, making it work from a company perspective is way better and possibly just one company. it wasn't due to her family's graces that she got the card, it was that she found it, I'll probably look more at the list of companies in the pokemon world and see whats suited the coupon/voucher since I don't know much about them at all. maybe you can suggest some?

As for her wealth?
I'm running the characteristics of a noble in DND, she doesn't know her responsibilities yet or how important her family name is but most high society and some common folk avoid her displeasure. She possibly has a wealth on her currently but though time she loses it going to 5-star restaurants and buying expensive clothing, she'll probably need to budget herself before she loses all her money
She'll have to find her own wealth out in the world

but thanks for the criticism, I'll make some changes here and there but maybe you can town you notch down being passive-aggressive, I understand you're providing criticism to certain characters but theres a way to do it.

Alright, now here's an exercise: make your character a Pokemon Masters sync pair. For the uninitiated, that means you have four 'moves' which are a combination of Pokemon moves, items like potion or X Attack (X Attack All for support-type characters), and one special trainer move. This trainer move is typically named after something the trainer would say, like Blue/Green here, and in his case raises his accuracy, crit and evasion.

Then you need a sync move as your signature move. You can think about the effects later, just come up with your own autistic chuuni spin on a move your favourite pokemon would use.

I did a write up for Ming-Ming and her Lopunny a while back. While Ming-Ming doesn't have an ace Pokemon, Strawberry fits similarly to her regular outfit's color scheme, that I felt it'd make sense to pair the two together. Sharyo's favorite type is water solely due to her fascination with the piplup line from a young age. As far as least favorite would be fairy for the type just not being something she personally aligns with.

She's a 5 star character because most Masters characters release at 5 stars. I'd normally put her at 4*, but I went with 5 to respect the game's release schedule.
I put Thunderous Kick in parenthesis to show that you only get access to that move (as well as Insult to Injury) after mega evolution. It also costs 3 bars, but I could make it 4 or even a Quick Move. Keep in mind that in-game Thunderous Kick doesn't have a high base power, so I wouldn't have it have a high value in Masters either.
Strawberry actually has Intimidate in one of the servers I'm in. If Terrify 1 is considered too much, then Lithe would've been slotted instead.
I believe recent pairs do similar things as well. Mallow and Tsareena for example have Trop Kick and Power Posture, making it so Attack drops on the target mean more damage for Tsareena. I could understand the worry that defense drops adding to move attack is scary indeed, but consider you need to use your sync move on Ming-Ming rather than your other pairs'. But if it's seen as too much by others, I wouldn't mind going with a different gameplay style.
Items, from what I've seen, don't tend to follow a particular rule. Lance and Hilda are both Striker pairs, but have Potion as their item.
What does this last part even mean? To use Mallow as an example, her Tsareena isn't cooking anything for her opponents. The cheer is generally a quote the trainer says, or something they would say, and "Let's rumble!" is a Ming-Ming sort of line if you ask me.

I don't know who you are, nor do I think you'd want me to know. But I do apologize that my character has given you so much grief, my friend. I hope you can spend your energy embracing characters, subject manner, or even hobbies that bring you joy, rather than having to take time away from your life on me. Trust me, there's better things to do with your time than get upset with an Internet person.

Ended up having too much fun with this

During downtime days Molly likes to spend a little time with each of her team.

With her Mawile, Cordelia, Molly knows she likes to be excessively pampered so she'll spend an hour or two polishing her horn while they talk fashion. The "talking" just being Cordelia flipping through a fashion magazine and Molly talking about what would look good on the both of them.

With her Rapidash, Talli, she rides her around the town or the fields so that Talli gets her exercise. If there are people nearby, Molly will let her hair down so it flows behind her like Talli's mane attempting to impress others. She attracts some looks but often just goes ignored after a while.

Molly's Lopunny, Mofurin, takes her physical training seriously, believing that the stronger she gets the more worthy of the "Fairy" title she'll be. Molly once tried to be like a boxing coach for herm holding up pads for Mofurin to punch.
It didn't end well and Molly spent the rest of the day holding back tears while her Clefable tended to her. Nowadays if they're in town Molly takes her to a local gym and lets her loose on the unsuspecting poor saps while yelling encouragement from the sidelines.

Tuff, the Togekiss, just has the intense desire to play and fly around all day. Molly will try to get him to stay still so she can clean him and maybe teach him manners, but it almost always ends up with Tuff mocking her, Molly getting angry and lurching for him, and then Tuff taking flight and proceeding to chase her around the field. Extremely embarrassing for her but extremely fun for him

With her Gardevoir, Rui, she spends time with him at the end of the day. Often the other Pokemon are sleeping. Rui likes to look at the night sky and stars with Molly and listen to her gab on and on about whatever the fuck. It seems to calm him down enough until he can rest peacefully.

Faeberli, her Clefable, is much more low maintenance. Molly will check on her throughout the day and make sure she's enjoying her books. She can't read of course, but she likes picture books. If she ever finishes with what she has they'll take a trip to the bookstore and wander about. At night after Molly finishes with Rui she'll climb into bed with her and use Faeberli as a pillow. Fae just likes being able to be of use so it makes her happy. Sometimes Cordelia joins in and within moments they're knocked out after a long day.

Lets See...
Brent and Sophia (Lilligant) are basically two halves of the same coin and probably share the same brain cells. They do everything together, but in terms of their favorite past time activity they love tending to their flower garden. If the garden isn't available at the time they'll go marching around the nearest town/forest to look for something fun to do or just take some time to chill and play some duets or have dance offs under the sun.

Haley's (Gardevoir) a big fan of socializing and experiencing new things everywhere she goes. So they go to of different stores, arcades, dinners, karaoke bars, events, movies, etc. that are around town. When they can't do that for whatever reason, they usually read some manga/books together, play their 3ds, or just talk about whatever's on their mind. I also imagine they sleep a lot, they both have jobs/responsibilities so after a hard days work, I could see them just passing out on a sofa or under a tree or something.

Lucy (Luxray) and Brent spar a lot. Lucy values being strong so fun for her is usually what Brent would call "Work". When she is finally reaches some level of exhaustion however, she's most likely just going to cuddle up with Brent. Though if I'm being honest, for Lucy any time spent just being alone with Brent is fun, it doesn't matter what they're doing.

Chase (Lopunny) and Brent both have a rivalry/competitive relationship. It used to just be small, but Chase really got attached to trying to one-up his trainer at every single turn. They have a ton of athletics contest (Which Chase destroys Brent in), Acrobatic contest (Which Brent destroys Chase in), drinking contests (They're both weak lightweights), video game/arcade contest, sports.... they even have sparring matches from time to time. Its all in good fun of course and they have a massive amount of love and respect for one another.

Manjurshri (Medicham) and Brent spend most of their time meditating rather than anything too physical or taxing. Manji enjoys meditation and he's told Brent that his music helps him find peace a bit easier so you'd normally see them doing that. If they were in a group then you would see Manji break out a bit more and have a little more conventional fun.

Freddie (Primarina) and Brent make a lot of music together. They have a recording studio in Eterna Forest that they spend hours mixing and crafting songs in. Its another thing Brent loves but would also classify as "Work" considering its his job, but Freddie loves the whole process. When they aren't doing that, Freddie likes to chill and let the younger Pokemon do their own thing. Freddie's in his "Midlife" age wise and not too keen on pushing himself unless he has to (Battles & Performances) so he's pretty reserved when it comes to past time. I think when this whole 'save the world' quest is done he might learn how to use some instruments to better express himself beyond just singing. You would 100% see this mermaid siting down and telekinetically (Psychic) pulling beers from the fridge while watching TV and nobody would bat an eye at it.

Brent's Rivals include: His band mate Hans, Chase, and the most important ones his parents! He wants to be better than his parents in terms of fame and fortune. Those two are local legends in Floaroma Town, Brent's gunning for the entire Sinnoh region then the rest of the world! So they're a big reason why he's so passionate about performing and why he can get super competitive.
On a lesser note him and Sophia visited Shaymin on its island home/Flower Paradise, and they were awe struck by how beautiful and perfect it was. They are now trying to out garden Flower God, they recognize the futility in this, but they are going to try!

Roswell has a sorta rival in Casia, who I need to flesh out. She's a bratty womanlet from the Sevii Islands who has a hatred for Kanto for bringing tourists from the mainland and setting up facilities there.
Unlike Roswell, who is a drifter without any real goals, Casia has a clearly defined goal and a will to see it through.
While they are on friendly terms, Casia often chews out Roswell for not training as often and reminds him of the promise they made. That he'd either be the one to usurp her as champion or work as the strongest of Sevii's eventual Elite Four otherwise.

This is Hamilton.
Hamilton is a mid-twenties Sinnohite who grew up in Solaceon and studied in Veilstone.
Hamilton somehow (partly through his brother in laws connections) managed to land a comfy desk job for the biggest Pokéball manufacturing company in Sinnoh. He didn’t involve himself with Pokémon much at all while growing up, but after catching his first Pokémon, a Hawlucha, and seeing how motivated it was to battle, he grew interested in becoming a trainer.

Hamilton loves fairy and water types since he thinks they are fashionable. He doesn’t like ice-types because he’s grown tired of the cold Sinnoh region. He doesn’t specialize in any type and just uses Pokémon he thinks are strong.

Hamlet loves his job at the Pokéball company. His idea of a perfect day is to do as little as possible while wasting time around the office and receiving a healthy salary. As for his current assignment, he hated having to leave his comfort zone but came to terms with it pretty quick after he realized he could laze around as much as he wanted as long as he managed to conjure up something halfway decent to present during the regular checkups from his supervisor.

Since Hamilton isn’t that great of a strategist or trainer, he tends to want to go after strong and reputable Pokémon and use them as a shortcut to become stronger. He doesn’t want to waste his time with weaker Pokémon that would take a lot of effort to train. As such, he doesn’t catch Pokémon willy-nilly and his team building is slow.

At this point Hamilton is just getting started with his journey. I’m imagining him to have a longer overarching character arc where he and works out some of his bigger faults while growing out of his childish mentality, but as for now I’m staying flexible with how I write him and will mostly focus on writing up a few episodic scenarios.

Daydreaming mostly, I often imagine huge battle scenes while trying to fall asleep. I’m planning on writing some short stories about Hamilton though. I also like to have a go-to character to draw whenever I want to try out a new pen or practice my expressions and whatnot. Hamilton shares some of my traits but he’s mostly a mix of traits I find interesting in fictional characters. I’m a sucker for characters like Buggy the Clown, Bunbee, anime Team Rocket, Nezumi Otoko and the like and I’ve definitely taken some inspiration from all of them.

He’s greedy and loves money, so he often sucks up to whoever he thinks would benefit him. He’s also lazy and is always looking for cheats and shortcuts.

While Hamilton lacks a specific training regime, the general outline of his training consists of him finding a trait or weakness among his Pokémon. That annoys him, so he trains his Pokémon to get over said weaknesses. This involves a lot of trial and error, which results in Hamilton really getting to know what his Pokémon are capable of.

He’s a neat freak, and something that bothers him a lot is when people don’t wash their hands after touching surfaces with a lot of germs, like doorknobs and whatnot. He can be surprisingly blunt about it and have told people he met that he won’t shake their hands until they wash them.

>How does your oc want to die?

Not at all, he wants to be young forever and whenever the thought of growing older crosses his mind he does his best to ignore it. As for a real answer, while he doesn’t have a preferred way to go, he wants to feel like he accomplished something meaningful before he goes.

Hamilton has a fair share of rivals actually: Seth, the heir to the regions dark-type gym. They have a friendly rivalry and Seth is probably Hamilton’s closest friend at this point. There’s also Alexandra, an icy girl who dislikes Hamilton since according to her he's a dishonest adult and corporate drone. The last one is Rudger, a Pokémon ranger who’s on bad terms with Hamilton after Hamilton accidentally caused some damage at a wildlife sanctuary while chasing after a Pokémon he wanted to catch. All his rivals will have some sort of impact on his personality and character development, but for now the main plot of his rivalries is that he hates loosing so he desperately tries to chase after Alexandra and Rudger who both are stronger than him, while trying to keep even with Seth who’s around the same level as him.

I should mention that I've posted a similar concept but with a different character design in theese threads before, around 2019 if I remember correctly, but I ended up using that character design for another non-Pokémon project so if this sounds familiar it's because I'm reusing my concept but with a different design and the only one I'm plagiarizing is myself.

I had a bit of time to run some mock battles between Brent and Luxray/Lucy. They went as followed:
Battle 1
>Round 1
Lucy rushes him down and pounces for a Bite attack! Hitting and clamping onto his leg dealing a 27 HP. Brent starts bouncing and swaying increasing his evasion using Splash! He then follows this up with a wicked Hyper Voice from his guitar, which Lucy nimbly dodges, but gets nicked by the edge of the blow dealing 25 HP. The music in the air bolster's Brent's defenses for a short time as the air starts to shatter damaging Lucy further for a Power Chord dealing a massive 60 HP.
>Round 2
Lucy goes in for a sparking Thunder Fang and unfortunately due to poor form misses her attack! Brent taking the initiative continues to Splash about then lets out an emotion filled song using Disarming Voice, it automatically hits dealing 40 damage and once more the music reinvigorates Brent's defenses and shatters the air damaging Lucy for a Power Chord dealing 57 points of damage.
>Round 3
Lucy getting desperate and tired, goes in for a Bite hoping her fangs can flinch him...her strike hits despite Brent's dodging attempts, dealing 28 damage, but not flinching him. Brent lifts his hand causing magical flowers to erupt from the ground using Magical Leaf, it's a critical hit! Dealing 55 points of damage!
Lucy faints!

Lucy rushes towards his ribs and goes for a freezing Ice-Fang...Brent once again nimby dodges it. Brent extends out a hand charging a blast of natures energy using Energy Ball just barely hitting dealing 48 damage.
>Round 3
Lucy attempts to flinch Brent once more with a Bite! Her fangs meet his arm but once again do not flinch... dealing 28 damage. Brent holds her body to his arm and goes in for a Draining Kiss and misses!
>Round 4
Lucy Bites down harder! Hits dealing 30 damage. Brent is flinched and unable to act!
>Round 5
Lucy goes in for a Thunder Fang...and misses as Brent ducks under her strike! Brent then grabs her and uses Draining Kiss....Critically hitting dealing 49 damage.

Lucy Faints with a smile!

I have no idea why this Pokemon's luck was the worst I've ever seen over the course of 3 FIGHTS, but its hilarious and definitely worth sharing. All she had to do was hit 3 Thunder Fangs!

You can tell due to the similar posting style that all the above posts are mine. Do you have any evidence that you not only have an OC that isn't Ming Ming, but a posting history beyond verbally shitting on Ming Ming? Surely, you should be able to provide both, and I don't want any posts with the same image, it's usually clear who somebody is just from the way they type. Now, you could have just been somebody else caught up in the hate, in which case it's fine to have fallen right into the trap, it took me almost a year to figure this out, I don't blame you.

In addition, I remember some people bitching about Dorian's OC's, but that seems to have calmed down somewhat even though not much changed. Brent had a girlfriend in Solaceon City he met while touring. She was a huge fan of his and they tried to make the long distance relationship work considering how much traveling & how busy Brent was with his band at the time, but it just never stuck and eventually they had amicable break up and moved on. Brent hasn't been in a romantic relationship since.

Yes he'd like a girlfriend and eventually a wife & family. But he's not really looking for that right now, he's focused on his career and life.

I the player of this character on the other hand, have been keeping a watchful eye out for NPCs that he might be interested with in the future and... somehow I have not seen one person. A lot of them are in their late 40s - 50s, seem like they would probably start pairing off with one another some point soon, and aren't really the most artistic sort who'd want the life that Brent is going for.
It's telling that the closest person I think he's gotten to know in the past 6 or so months in game time (Specifically during downtime) has been Haley the Gardevoir. They have the most amount of chemistry and from the outside looking in while they aren't in a romantic relationship it looks like one. They talk a lot, they go out on what looks like dates a lot, they play games and read manga together a lot, they work to pay rent and they sleep in the same bed (though to be fair he does this with all of his Pokemon). So aside from her, I got nothin'.
