My younger brother was watching me play White, and I was showing him some different Pokemon. I told him about the Ducklett on that one bridge and he wanted to see one. So I let him run into one of the shadows and fight it for himself.
Out pops a pink duck. In a panic because I knew he'd try to kill it, I take the DS out of his hands and while he's pretty much scratching my arms trying to get it back, I throw a Quick Ball and explain to him what a shiny is. Still have that Ducklett, he's a Swanna now.
I know doing that was a little mean but I knew he would have purposefully done the opposite of what I would've told him to do if I told him to catch it.
