>>46017002>>46017432These are the best descriptions of it. It's a fun look at what an anime that stuck closer to the games' story and logic would be like. It still takes a few liberties in adapting the games' mechanics to real world physics and logic, but it works well.
If you hate the Charizard line, though, I'd say to give it a pass. There's a big emphasis on the trainer-starter bond, and in this case, that means Charizard gets a big spotlight. But, if you're a Charizard fan or don't care either way, then you should be all good. Plus this series marks the very first appearance of Mega Charizard X in...anything, actually, and it is introduced masterfully.
All in all, it's a short, neat little series that makes for a fun watch once in a while. The animation is gorgeous, characterization is solid, and the sound design is mostly on point. Ironically, the only thing that sounds bad is Charizard, who just sounds like some guy going "rarr." Basically, it's Pokemon. If you like Pokemon, you'll like Origins. Try to find it subbed if you can, since the English voicework is...a little awkward. But yeah, I'd recommend it. you'll have a good time.
