>>46019905It depends. I like having a Gen 3 sav file that is completely finished. Just in case I need to go back and catch some weird Pokemon, or what to just enjoy the Hoenn atmosphere. I have Emerald for this. It has the most features, and is peak Hoenn.
But for just 'eh, I want to do a Hoenn run through' I have a Sapphire sitting around that I'll play through. It really isn't that much of a down grade.
Personally, I like the story of Sapphire/Ruby slightly more. It's a little less intrusive as you only have the single team to deal with, and the Elite Four final fight makes more sense. I've found it's a slightly smoother replay experience. But again, the differences are so small, most people won't notice the pros/cons until multiple playthroughs.
