Like, Archie is unquestionably a villain whose motives are wholesome but his actions aren't. The man just loves Pokemon and wants to make the world a better place for them, because he recognizes humanity is slowly but surely ruining it with industrialization. That being said, flooding the world and killing most land-dwelling mons is frankly Pretty Retarded.
But also, the fact that every time you beat him, he's just like "Holy shit, you guys seein' this? This kid's fuckin nutty! Haha, I respect the hell out of you, and I hope you keep getting stronger and beat me again, but also don't mess with my plans or I WILL have to beat the shit out of you." Archie as a villain who loves to see this actual child roll up and stomp him is extremely good.
Also, the fact that Matt is this actual brick wall of a dude who screams everything in all caps was a great little touch.
Really Skull is the only team as memorable as ORAS Aqua. Also that one Flare grunt who starts to regret joining the team, and refuses to let you into the standing stone area on account of not wanting to expose a kid to the horrors they've been having to see and hear for the last few hours - as opposed to "fuck you boss said no one's allowed in"
