It's weird, on paper, Both gens 3 and 5 are better than gen 4 in my opinion.
But I always end up enjoying the Sinnoh games a lot more than I expect I would, and likewise I always end up enjoying Unova and Hoenn games less than I expect would.
Anyone else have this sort of gap between their experiences in theory and in practice? I'm not trying to bash any games or incite gen wars I'm more so trying to start a discussion about whether everyone has their standards straight
