Can we have a thread dedicated to discussing anime? Not like /padt/ where the focus is on waifu wars but the act of actually watching it. Would you be for or against a protagonist using Meowth or its evolution as a major team member?

I just started Journeys last week and I've been enjoying it. This is the first time I've watched the anime since Diamond and Pearl. Coming back to the show I'm realizing just how meaningless Ash's goal is. I get that that is by design so they can make the show last forever, but it makes it hard to give a shit about Ash. I'm honestly enjoying Goh just going around catching everything he finds far more enjoyable than the World Tournament stuff. Though I do like Ash's rivalry with Bea. Also Chuck appeared out of nowhere which was fun.
