They didn't replace anything they straight up removed the world building. Even adding something like pic related to the game is extremely easy and would add a lot of soul but they will never even try.

I find capumon to be super interesting. Maybe yokai watch is it, but i havent played it. I think the capsules make me think of dragonball, and I imagine it wouldn't have hm's which is a big plus
