I loved them because I came up with the idea of Megas before they were even a thing. I imagined some sort of secret fourth evolution that could rise fully evolved pokémon to a legendary status.
My idea was different in one thing though. They could not revert back to pre-mega. I imagined limiting it instead to just one legendary evolution per game so you just choose your favorite, but it would stay megaevolved for ever. It would have made each of them much more special and it would have been less digimon-like. But I'm still ok with what we got. As a collector I would have suffered with my idea.

they couldve made megas return honestly. at least superficially. why not reuse the designs for certain pkmn as the gigantamax? gigantamax barely does anything so just make the pokemon that already have megas look like they when they dynamax

megas were a good idea but heavily misused, some pokemon deserved actual evolutions and a mega on top ( for example mawile and sableye) no pokemon with a bst above 500 deserved a mega in my eyes, if they needed a buff give them a stat buff or expand their move pool. Rayquaza should've just had a primal

it did need an actual evolution, it's pretty much neutered without it and with the current mechanics in battle there isnt a reason for using weaker Pokémon unless your trying to challenge yourself or you just really like it

It’s a good idea, but I just don’t like how half assed it all is. A handful of mons per game, that seem to be totally randomly chosen. Same goes for mega evolutions. Fuck that shit, game freak needs to do a clean out of things that are/aren’t considered canon/possible in the pokemon world
