Team Skull introduces the concept of an "evil team" that's really just a bunch of troublemakers and more of an inconvenience than a threat. Team Yell reuses this concept but has even less of a payoff due to them not having the charm of Skull or Guzma, Plumeria and Gladion to bounce off of.

At least Team Skull was entertaining and loveable, they were all rejected members of society and treated each other like family. It's a nice change to see villains act like this for once. Team Yell was full of obnoxious retards with no chemistry at all. It would've been better to not introduce a villain team at all for this gen.

I also forgot to mention that Skull fits into the plot better with Guzma being sponsored by Aether, who appeared to be good while making shit like Type: Null in the background. Inversely, Team Yell becomes completely irrelevant after Piers' gym and Macro Cosmos is thrown at you at the absolute last second.

agreed, or just flesh out macro cosmos and the entire climax of the game
theres like 4 fights with cosmos grunts and they dont even have a battle theme like aether (unless you count the garbage elevator song)
