ive used both. oddly enough huntail kicked more ass than gorebyss but i gave it a swift swim set. both of them were more frail and underwhelming than i thought though

This is why I started playing rom hacks. With everything mixed around, I often find myself playing with mon I never have in an ingame team.

i love late-game party members in RPGs and always try to use them so i love the idea of late-game mons

the problem is they should be sufficiently powerful or fill an interesting niche to be “worth it” and huntail/gorebyss are too slow and frail to be worth using when the game is almost done

Used one for about half of USUM. It kicked ass, too. It has decent stats and rock tomb alleviated it's shit speed.

I used it a bit like an HM slave in gen2 and 3 since is the only pokemon that learn Waterfall through level up

It boggles my mind how they gave it that move as a signature when climbing the waterfall is at the core of the koi turning into dragon legend making it so much more fitting for magikarp to learn the moment it evolves into gyarados.

I used Seaking on my first crystal VC team. Team was based around my roommates' pets. Team ended up being Seaking (Goldfish), Sandslash (Hedgehog), Houndoom (Border Collie), Pidgeot (my bird), Umbreon (cat), and Tyrannitar (my roommate had a few T-rex statues). Protip: Don't use seaking.

im very curious to see what pokemon get used in ingame teams much more often in a later gen rather than their debut one

like not many players used golurk in gen 5 but a lot of people used it in gen 6, etc.

I recently only first used Kingdra on a dragon monotype of Y. Can't believe due to it being a trade evolution it took the 14 years between those two releasing plus additional years for me to start a dragon run to discover one of my favorite pokemon.

I was constantly swtiching my team up in Black. I put Golett on the team as soon as I could though because I saw Golurk and wanted to take him all the way. I named mine "Go! Golurk" so the game would say "Go! Go! Golurk!" every time I sent it out in battle.
