Everyone thinks DP remake is next, but knowing the pokemon company it will probably disappoint us with lets go johto.

There's nothing to say it won't be Sinnoh + Johto to tie in the connections between them better in one fell swoop.
It would be kind of odd for them to jump to Johto when a Let's Go to Sinnoh! is more likely.

Doesn't matter if it connects to GO, the DP remakes will just connect to Sleep.

No it didn't. Don't listen to retards that say otherwise they don't know what they're talking about. They think SwSh was a flop too and that game is on track to outsell Gold and Silver. LGPE sold better than FRLG, and is the 7th best selling Switch title. It didn't do as well at launch in Japan as past Pokemon games, but at the time it was still the biggest launch for a Switch title in Japan, and at the time of release it had a 33% attach rate meaning 1 in 3 Switch owners owned the game. Sales have slowed down since SwSh's release but they've sold enough units for it to be a success.

What does the gen the remake is in matter anymore when they're not using the opportunity to modernize the region anyway?
LGPE was completely different than either SM or SWSH and ended up being closer to ORAS more than anything.

Well, what if they completely scrapped Kanto and focused completely on Johto? Would that really be so wrong? You could just have certain characters show up in Johto anyways without it feeling like a shoehorn.

As long as the Johto starters got much needed updates after years of neglect abuse, and the aesthetics of the region were emphasized which really is the best thing about Johto, then I honestly wouldn't care.
