fly destroys the sense of adventure, and by this time your team is usually finalized and fully evolved so everything afterwards feels like a bosh rush that you just want to get over with.

You can't fly to places you haven't been before, how doses it destroy the adventure? If anything, it encourages backtracking because you don't have to trek across half of the map to do it.

Surf often leads to the most interesting areas tho. It only sucks when it's huge amounts of water like in hoenn in most other games you just cross a small body of water to get to another area

You get Fly in gen 1 before the 4th badge if you do lavender town and the celadon hideout immediately, what do you mean? You can barely catch half the dex before you get rid of Snorlax, and that's when you get Fly. Get your head out of your ass and try to enjoy yourself more.
