Why doesn't GF just hire monolithsoft to handle the world design for them?
Pokemon would benefit from open expandive content-filled, yet still linear and simple, level design.

What makes you think MonolithSoft is up for hire? They already have to bleed staff to do internal Nintendo work that gets dropped on their lap, and they still want to make their own games.

They have no reason to work on fucking Pokemon, and that is not to mention that Gamefreak would likely prefer to be able to do stuff themselves than rely on outsourcing for obvious "studio wants money" reasons.

That is absolutley irrelevant, because the """""challenge"""""" in Pokemon games is completely unrelated to how many Pokemons the enemy has. Your true hurdle is the variety of monsters available for you at each point in the story, and an Open World Pokemon would have an even more overwhelming freedom on that note than both XY and SwSh combined, meaning it would be even easier.

Wild pokemon could spawn depending on your badges. If you have few badges lower level pokemon will appear more often than strong ones.

I think it's stupid that only Johto gets criticized for this. Kanto and Hoenn have the same issue. You can do some of the gyms out of order but the gym leaders' pokemon will never scale to be around the same level as the trainer's

true, they didn't really fix this until Gen 4-5. That said, Johto's is the most obvious. Hoenn's level jump doesn't really occur until Victory Road/E4.

1. They absolutely do not, will not, and most importantly cannot care about the quality of the games.

Both MK8 and ARMS had Bandai help with Network functions and did not need to credit them outside of the actual credits, Fire Emblem Three Houses outsourced 70% of it's Development to Koei Tecmo and also did not need to credit them outside of the end credits. Monolith Soft is not credit on the opening screen of neither ACNH nor BOTW.

There is no "law that means you get to put logos in the main title for shit you paid to be done"

You can walk for several minutes with nothing but monsters popping up. The areas are so big that its just a bunch of scenery, nothing more. Its grand and epic and all, but for a video game it feels a bit too plain as far as things to do in between places.

I don't understand your problem. You fight, grind, and play the game between cities and major areas. That's what you do in any JRPG. Areas and routes are for grinding and hunting, towns are for other content.

It is exactly like the Wild Area, except bigger, which is a problem because "bigger" is the least thing you should want of "area with nothing to do but walk".

BOTW's development team spoke at lenght about how important it was for them to make sure the world was NOT too big.

The obedience level and catch level would keep teams from getting too strong. They'd just make stronger Pokemon too high level to catch until you have a certain number of badges. Same as how the Wild Area works in SwSh.

I believe the magic is finding those hidden areas for yourself and finding new monsters and rare items. The idea of discovery and wonder. I believe that Pokemon can do this well. Imagine finding a secret cave on your own and finding out that's where Gibles and some legendary lives at, and you can actually see them interacting like wild creatures.

Yes and no. Yes, they had side areas that had certain interesting encounters that you likely wouldn't know about unless you stumbled upon it or just looked it up.
No because they were also just sitting there waiting for you unless they were specifically roaming encounters.

Having played through Xenoblade:DE recently, the only area that really felt that way was the ice mountain area. That place could have been exactly the same except scaled down by 0.5x and it would be better for it.
I think just having the unique monsters (which are like minibosses) scattered about is enough incentive to explore around.

Nintendo don't WANT to deal with makin the games son. It's why they KEEP paying Game Freak to make the games, they get the best of both worlds, fuckload of console sales, fuckload of game sales to add publisher's royalties, fuckload of profit off the brand from the independent brand managing company AND they get to concentrate on their own shit while all this goes down. They don't care, they get paid. This is so communication between head Office and the small studios is more streamlined, nothing more.
Unless you're suggesting EVERYONE going into the new building is doing so because Nintendo want to start fiddling with them first-hand.
