>>46050091Given that the recall part alone is much slower compared to the 3DS titles, I imagine there's a world where all that could be sped up, yes? You can make webms, yeah? Want to try speeding up the animation to a pace you think is good? I'd actually like to see something like that, if anybody else would be willing.
>>46050099Are you sure? I mean, I don't know much about netcode in general, could you elaborate on the exact details of the problem? I love learning about this kind of shit. I have the Wikipedia article on netcode open if you don't want me to talk about it instead. In addition, I do know how Monster Hunter World handles this. See, they make you beat each mission once, to watch the cut-scenes, then you can play online with friends so that doesn't happen. In other words, exactly what I suggested with the opt-in above. Similarly, I understand that Pokemon battles can get desynched, either due to internet or hardware problems. But one question I have is about text boxes, can you advance the ones in battle? It's been a while since I did my local playthrough of the Multi Battle Tower in Gen 4, and I forgot most of it in a blind rage because it was so fucking slow, but I forget if I could even advance textboxes at all in that mode. If you can advance the textboxes, does that cause desynch? If not, then what does? Similarly would animation canceling work on a similar principal? Especially since what happens in a Pokemon battle is determined when you make the move. I know RNG is decided at the start of the battle, which would mean that as soon as you enter the move, everything is pre-determined, unless something fucky happens. I know the Gen 1 link battle code was a bit weird in that respect, as an example off the top of my head.
