I definitely advise you to replay gen 5 as a whole. I did it last year and it was the best Pokémon experience I ever had. Playing through Black then Black 2 feels like a real big adventure. I underestimated gen 5 when it came out, now I can safely say that it's my favorite generation, even before gen 4 (including HGSS)

Yes I've played through Fire Red, Emerald and am now on Platinum, all of them for the first time.

Yeah, I'm old enough to have been in middle school when Pokemania first hit but for some reason I've suddenly become interested in the games now. Not sure how many of these games I can play before getting burned out but I am planning to do HGSS next.

I've been playing renegade platinum, I really like some of the changes that have been made and the difficulty curve hasn't resulted in any insane grinds yet. I really liked how you're forced to go north early on, adds some much needed variety to early sinnohs insanely bland routes.

I hope you can make it through hgss and bw/bw2 before burn in kicks although you're probably going to want to take a break at some point. You're working your way through the best games in the franchise

Finished up a replay of XDGoD early in the month, so yep. Planning on doing my first replay of SwSh soon to see how it goes a year later.

I’m with anon above, Gen 5 is great. Highly recommend you play both the original and sequel. Probably my favorite generation overall too (though HGSS might be my favorite individual game)
