I would say that Hoenn has the best battle music, Unova has the best overworld music, and that Johto champion is the best single track in the series. You can't generalize with an OST when each entry in the series has both its bangers and its stinkers.

It might be my nostalgia bias speaking but the best track in the series for me is the Lake theme from Sinnoh. The piano gets to me. Champion Cynthia and Unova’s Legendary Battle theme are close as well.

Most pokemon music is eother forgetable, bland or plain bad, but Unova and Hoenn stand out for me. What a good and memorable soundtrack.
