What do you have as back up for Ho Oh? I've been using Entei s7 and one thing I love about him is, as a physical attacker, he's immune to both burns and intimidate. Ho Oh only has the luxury of being immune to burns but not Intimidate. Who cqn I couple him with to better prepare for Landos, Incineroars and other Intimidaters? I'd like to shy away from the genies as they'd double me into electric and/or rock weaknesses (I was playing Defiant Tornadus partnered with Metagross last season, everyone thought it was the common Prankster support set and I got so many cheeky free boosts off, alas not for this team though).

I'm personally interested in Dialga, trick room + WP + 150BP Max Wyrmwind sound cool in my book.
Kyogre also sounds disgustingly strong but it's clunkier to use with WP since you'll probably want to pair it with an Intimidate pokémon instead.

Tornadus Tailwind+ Hurricane seems to be the partner of choice. Many people are talking opting for an item like Mystic Water on Ogre and just spamming Spout.

I think the aim is to give it options and protect. 1.2x boost to full powered Spout in the rain is already insane damage, and most people are anticipating scarf or non damage boosting item so you may catch someone off guard with calcs.

The point is that kyogre hits so hard by itself people need to invest a shitton to not get OHKO'd or 2KO'd, and mystic water adds enough extra more damage to completely mess up those calcs.

Baek made a good rundown of every restricted pokémon, though I disagree on his opinions on Yveltal since in my opinion it's going to be very hard to pilot since you're going to face Zacian and Xerneas quite often. So every other match you won't be able to bring it.

I haven't theorycrafted too much but I feel like you kinda have to use to your own advantage the fact it can't dynamax as much as possible.
It's a nasty pokémon to deal with since the obvious answer is fake out pressure, but if you lead with fake out your opponent could run it in the back, but if you don't lead with fake out it could just sub in front of you and that's game from there.
You need offenses and control at the same time, and I honestly don't understand how you can do that if it gets paired with a follow me user and you can't bring your own restricted pokémon.

The first thought I have is Landorus T, sonce one of Zacian's only weaknesses is ground and you'll equalize the Intrepid Sword boost. Partnered with Yveltal you could EQ for free without taking damage. Though I'll admit Telepathy Dialga just sounds so much betterall around in that matchup than Yveltal. I'm thinking it's gotta be a matchup where the rest of your team deals with it.

Gives me a partner to slow the enemy down for Dialga to outspeed. I believe some of the best speed control is an adaptable midde tier speed. Against slower enemies you never have to Trick Room and against faster ones choosing to slow them or TR your slower Pokemon up is a comfortable set of options. It is worth it, in doubles 4v4 speed advantage really is that important.
