>>46066032The series is formulaic for sure, but I had fun seeing all those pokemon for the first time, and catching them just to see what they’d evolve into (helped by the fact that the SM pokedex showed you if a mon could evolve even if you never encountered that evolution). And it was neat to compare series staples like the evil teams, league, champion, and music as I went along.
I went through Shield blind too, but I kind of regret it. Likely not gonna get the next generations unless I hear the supposed Sinnoh remakes getting much better reception than SwSh and get people hopeful about the future.
