Could be worse honestly.
At least you won't have to deal with shit like static and poison point.
Then again you could just pick a special attacker and not give a shit either.

That's one thing I never understood about the series, why the physical attackers get fucked so much harder than the special attackers.
Intimidate cutting your attack stat, moves like the elemental punches being weaker than the beams...
You'd think they'd get something else in return but I really don't see it.

Most priority moves are physical as well. And since Hidden Power was removed special attackers have worse coverage overall

Would it have been a better ability if it used its Special Attack stat for Physical moves? I guess not for Decidueye, but in general?

Depends on the pokemon's stats I guess.
For Mewtwo Y, Psystrike is an extremely good move because it's a physical attack that goes off its massive special attack stat.

And such a waste, too.
Most of Decidueye's moves (including its signature move) don't even make contact.
Just give it an ability that powers up non-contact physical moves to fit the archer theme.
