You know I'd say something about Lugia being based off of the symbol of the Chinese Emperor but Gamefreak and the Trashnime have gone out of their way to make Lugia such a nonlegendary that I wouldn't even be making a point

lugia's kind of mixed, the creator designed it to be mixed, but the anime it is male (or has a male voice)
ho-oh is directly based on fenghuang which is female (fenghuang is literally ho-oh in japanese)
