Some are good, some suck. It goes for most Pokemon designers
Piplup, Eelektross and Greninja are great, but the Oshawott line and Urshifu are megacringe

He also designed Marnie. (and helped design Xerneas/Yveltal, a lot of human characters in BW, and was art director for SM)

Always thought Marnie looked kind of ugly, and some of the human characters in BW look stupid, but he's actually a decent art director. Wouldn't mind having him again for another mainline game

We don't know that. He likely designed all stages of Gens 4-6 Water starters. Considering he makes evolutions drastic/sudden from prior stage >>46073666 bubbles to tongue seems like a design choice he would come up with
