Pretty cool. Nocturne and Strange Journey are great. Haven't played every Persona game, but like those, too. The demon-fusing mechanic speaks to my inner /vp/er, even if it isn't as complicated.

I hated SMT 4 at first and now it's one of my favourite games of all time. Tried 4A and Strange Journey but didn't continue. Plan on getting Nocturne and 5 but not on release. Still like Pokemon Gen 4 games more than SMT 4 in my favourite games hierarchy. Also Persona sucks just wanted to say that.

Which is better for getting into the mainline series? I'm assuming 4 but I've heard that Strange Journey is pretty close just more of a dungeon crawler.

Yeah, that's correct. 4 is more classic SMT. Strange Journey is kind of an anomaly -- they intentionally make the story "strange" and more sci-fi, and play up the dungeon crawling to take advantage of the DS's second screen.
