Pokemon marketing was always aimed to failed parents, consoomers and nostalgic autists, hence its downfall. You should be grateful that Pokemon Go is around, otherwise we wouldn't have "Let's Go". Nothing you could expunge from history from last 10 years of Pokemon would have change its quality demise.

Let me rephrase that, it's not like total downfall, it is like deliberate gameplay degratation to appease some people and not pushing the franchise forward like some old game design choices that no longer work in a game like SwSh. Or the fact that some parts of S&M and SwSh look like FFXIII hallways.

The game most closely associated with GO ended up being the best post-Gen 6 game.
So, no. Pic related instead decided to do the damage.
It's unfortunate because Alola could have been very soulful if they just tied Kalos into it like they seemingly were going to.

I see GF experimenting more with the games art style going forward. They clearly would like to do something simpler that they could realistically release in a single year. There's a reason why their first games on 3DS and Switch both used a more chibi style. I wonder how people would feel about the Tales Of style being used for Pokemon.
