I think Europe overall has more inspirations in theory, but North America has more that they can politically get away with. And Alola doesn't really count, so we haven't been to anywhere in the Americas since Gen 5. They could probably make a decent region out of any subregion/collection of states in the US, or part of Canada, Mexico, or they could even go for a wildcard like Brazil, Argentina, Peru. Australia would also be a safe option.
China could be fun but that has so many opportunities to go wrong and piss off China and the US not to mention Japan.
