He's fun, and I like how he says fuck you to the main gimmick of the region. He really needed a voice, though, even if it was something as simple as what Roxie got on B2W2, his concert really feels lifeless without it

Piers didn't have a plan though. He literally just thought nobody was coming to his gym because the town was so run down and had no Dynamax potential.

He was the ONLY Gym Leader in the entire game that put up a fight
He also fucking hates the regional gimmick and is able to beat any of the other 7 without it, essentially meaning he can beat them with a massive handicap (he can beat Raihan in the post-game tournaments)
He's got a sick theme
He's also fairly nice and helps out the player multiple times, including the lengthly post game quest (and unlike Hop he's not a dead weight)

He's like, the only guy in the game I don't fucking hate.

Not this >>46088693 anon but the other gym leaders teams suck ass as an actual team to the point where they don’t even function as a cohesive team half the time which previous gym leaders even though their not difficult, their teams worked together and in some cases actually had a basic strategy (like Elesa’s volt switching or Candice’s hail team are some decent examples of good gym team design). Piers team is the only gym team that actually takes advantage of all of his pokemon’s strengths where the only flaw with it is his ace running a useless ability whereas the other Galar gym leaders tend to rely solely on their Dynamax aces to do anything while the rest of their teams are essentially treated like cannon fodders to pad time. Even Raihan’s teams is utter garbage as a doubles team where the team doesn’t even utilises the doubles mechanic at all and frankly if you look at his teams moveset, it’s more designed as a single battle team that’s been shoved into a doubles format whereas the last doubles gym leader Tate and Liza (even though their piss easy) do run multiple things that takes advantage of the doubles format (unlike Raihan) ranging from multi targeting moves like earthquake to one of the screens.

Also another thing to add, gen 8 puts more emphasis on the gym leaders more so than any other generation but in practice, their no different than the Kalos gym leaders except for piers.

Only problem is that both him and Roxie are members of a band yet we could hear Roxie sing in her first appearance and this guy's game came out almost a decade later on a home console and he doesn't have any semblance of a voice
