PBR had the best battle modes though. I honestly wish the battle tower clones had as much diversity as PBR.
GameFreak also needs to adapt the PBR battle engine, battle in SWSH are too fucking slow for a console title.

This is going to be really autistic but one of the coolest features in PBR was the ability to save you entire team + customization to your controller.
PBR was designed as a Stadium game, a game that allows you to have a whole bunch of people connect in one area and battle. I didn't use this feature because I certainly had no one else to play the game with, but now that I'm in a college with a Pokemon Club, that really sounds like an awesome feature. Do JoyCons not contain memory to do something like this? I know they save their color value in RGB hex but features like these are on whole other levels.

there's also a functional reason to keep the GTS outside the game. If everyone is forced to use the GTS in Home instead then multiple games will be interconnected and there will be more trades available. If they put it in SS then only trades from SS players would be available.

To scam people to pay to use the GTS effectively with multiple slots, and is required regardless of subscription or not to be used on a phone rather than the Switch the games are native on.

There's no reason content in a single app should be split up like that.
